This thread is about Kabam's announcement about Kabam (Osaurus) Rex. I understand that not everyone has used the option to use the same character, but it's unfair that those who have should be penalized. I have two reasons: first, it's certainly not my fault if the game somehow allows me to use the same character, otherwise. It was possible, it shouldn't have happened. It's a game error, not mine. "Pepe" demonstrated the tactic of being able to use the same character in a live stream organized by Kabam for Twitch drops. Someone who works with you showed that it could be done. In my opinion, the best thing is to give everyone the same rewards without penalties. Bye everyone, and happy gaming.

KABAM made the mistake for this to even happen, if they had tested the game mode correctly and made sure no bugs or issues existied this would never have happened, yet they are going to blame the community for their mistake. Utter nonesense and completely back handed by KABAM if you ask me.
Ban the actualy hackers and leave the ones who maybe used same champs, so what if we did, make sure your game modes work correctly before releasing it, SIMPLE!!

He should have known better. It was less than a month since the whole 7* compensation fiasco. Kabam puts out a statement saying please don’t take advantage of bugs and exploits and play the game in the spirit it was intended. What does one of their public facing employees do? Exactly what Kabam asked us not to do. He’s lucky to still have a job.

Did you even read Kabam's announcement? They're banning 600 hackers. They're not banning people for using the same champ multiple times, they're just not counting those extra points.

Yet people who exploited the 7* crystal bug were handsomely rewarded, so I don't blame anyone for thinking that exploiting Kabam bugs is a smart strategy.

So let me get this straight,

All of the official information on the Coliseum stated that your can't use the same champ for other Podium.

Yes, it is a bug, but you chose to exploited it. Many other know to bug but chosen to do the right thing a not exploited.

Please know that in the past players have been known to be banned for exploiting bug, so you are luck that you only had your point deducted.

THats what I meant ban the actual hackers but they screw the players that maybe used same champ I think is just selfish and nasty on KABAMS part IMO

Wait so your exploited the bug get higher scores than you would have been able to. Over take other players score when they CHOSEN to do the right thing and NOT exploited the bug.

And your saying Kabam should just leave your points as it is…...right...that sound fair🤔

I can understand your frustration regarding how Kabam dealt with the 7* Basic pool issue, and while I don't know what would be the best solution for that situation, this is something completely different.

With the 7*Basic Pool bug, most players couldn not know that it was a bug to exploit, as the only way to find out was to open. However with the Coliseum, how it was meant to be played was clearly stated in multiple channel, Kabam Crash even shared his plan of approaching the content. So anyone that used the same champ on multiple Podiums were clearly intentional exploiting it, so deducted of points was the right path.

Again I understand your frustration, but bundled these 2 very different situations only promote misinformation and make little base for your point.

It was clearly stated that the same character could not be used. It was clear that being able to use it was indeed a bug. If you exploit a bug kowingly, you can get penalised for that. Clear as day

If it was okay to use the same character then players wouldn't have needed to find a workaround to make it work. That's called an exploit. They should count their blessings that they weren't banned too.

Taking a view on a loophole is not ‘cheating’ - those who took that view should not be penalised. Points gained were through genuine effort, time, slog and skill- regardless. This is QOL time that money cannot buy back.

. If one thinks back on 1/the initial inception of Alliance Raids - where Assault+ Prowess Ender + Purgatory combo proved way too overpowered - many took that view too and made it work for them and alliances (no penalties were had); 2/the excess Titans dished out to players tied to some other event/cycle (no penalties/ reversals were had).

Why now? There is no plausible precedent here - beyond the fact that the top prizes of t7b, t5a fragments are the most monetise-able so far in MCOC history.

A remedy should be: ex-outright cheating - alliance standings will calc. and hold true AND 1/ Kabam affirms that it is an unintended loophole 2/ it will be fixed in time for future cycles 3/ state clearly that players do NOT exploit it going forward (if 2/ unintendedly fails to work in PROD) AND if they DO, penalties will THEN arise.

7* Crystal issue = People saving shards for months, waiting for an updated pool so as soon as that update rolls over people start popping crystals COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS to the fact that the pool hadn't updated correctly. Yes, I was one of those people who opened at a few minutes after the bug crystal went live and just thought I was super unlucky (I can, hand on heart, say if I hadn't I wouldn't have been salty about kabam's decision for 1:1 compensation) but within that initial period of time before it was actually announced that the crystals were bugged NO ONE was aware that compensation of any sort would be issued. In conclusion: you cannot exploit something that you do not know is happening with a view to gaining an "unfair advantage" in a situation you don't know the outcome of!
For those quoting Zola-gate in response to this, that was also a different situation - 1 champ missing for which people received a selector for said champion. By the logic that the situations were treated differently anyone who opened their 7* crystals with the 21 champs missing should have received 21 selectors for either ALL of the missing champs OR 1 of the types of crystals they opened. Would the haters have considered that fairer? 1:1 probably was excessive but like it or not Kabam are a business and have to weigh up the cost of how much it would cost in time, wages and manpower to rollback the error and reverse everything that happened in the bug window and re-instate shards to be opened with the non bugged crystals against what is (more than) adequate compensation without costing kabam loads in various different resources.

^^^ NOT EXPLOITATION (I acknowledge that in the period between the first announcement and the fix there probably was exploitation, knowing that compensation was coming!)

Coliseum Issue = Kabam made clear the rules that a champ can be used only once and not repeated on podiums BUT people chose to ignore the rules and, in this case, knowingly exploited the multiple use of same champs who performed well therefore scoring more points than others and subsequently gaining an unfair advantage.

Someone else has used the bank example elsewhere: If a bank doesn't lock up and you walk in and rob it, do you expect to do so free of consequence? Of course not! Yes, it's the banks fault and yes, it's embarrassing for the bank but there is no way they are going to rollover and just let you keep what you stole because you know it's against the rules yet you choose to ignore and do it anyway. I feel like the coliseum issue has been dealt with more than fairly:

Bans for cheaters
Points reductions for exploits.

Difference being did Kabam ever say "You are not allowed to use this purgatory set-up in raids"?

Was purgatory a champ that could be taken into raids under the assault tag and you could select prowess ender boost?

I believe it was the latter. Kabam never cited this as a bug or a prohibition or a loophole, it was a set-up that was overlooked as being OP therefore no cheating took place and subsequently no requirement for any rollbacks or compensation or bans or points deductions!

What you are trying to say is basically "I/they/whoever took the time to do something I shouldn't have been doing and that took effort and it cost me time and I slogged away with all my skill to do this thing that I shouldn't be doing so I shouldn't be penalised!"
