Colossus is overrated

I feel that colossus is overrated because i play him and his damage is terrible unless I’m playing him wrong which I can’t be because he’s simple I watch a ton of vids salivating over him and see the damage it’s good in video but not in game like I have rank 1 7* take him in rol to test him and had 10 or more armor did heavy into special 2 and only took hm to 70% but watched video of exact same play style and same rank and star no boosts and got him down to 30% can someone explain what’s happening

Colossus has a low critical rate, but a high critical damage amount if he has a lot of armours.

If you can get him to crit on his heavy into SP2 rotation, the yellow numbers will be big. If you watch the vid back, that might be what was happening.

Try changing his stat focus to Crit rating (the crosshairs symbol).

Also equip a statcast relic that increases the critical rating.

I’ll try to do that but I think I’m just extremely unlucky with crits I have same problem with captain America infinity war

ya I did all that and still took over a minute to 150k just too inconsistent so I don’t get the hype over him

I wouldn’t use him in BGs but his utility does make him very useful for story content.

I dont think Collosus has been hyped for his damage potential in years. I know he was once considered a top 5 mutant with good crit damage but the damage floor itself has changed since then and he has dropped off in tier lists. That doesnt take anything away from his utility and his damage ceiling though.

Not sure who is hyping him. Especially now with mutant class on a roll with solid new champs being released in quick succession starting with Onslaught. Colossus is worth the r2 (r3 in more developed rosters) for his versatile utility and immunities and the occasional crit on sp 2 but not top tier.

dude most 7 star rank ones aren’t impressive . Equip the gambit relic for more consistent crits

I use him primarily in AQ, partially to boost Wolverine, but he's wonderfully effective in fights Wolverine can't take.

He unfortunately needs the omega red synergy to get truly bonkers numbers. With that single synergy he legit becomes Everest content level in his damage. I know because I used him for the Necro carina challenges, and he absolutely destroyed it.

I finished WS in 1:06 with a R1 Colossus. 6* duped Gambit relic. If he crits, he does massive damage.

He actually might make a comeback imo.

All of the meta defenders have hard counters now that cheese them.

Colossus can be a sneaky stall defender with his armors and immunities.

A lot of champs still nuke him. Most mystics, Galan nukes him, many tech champs

I still remember when Colossus was once a top 5 mutant, but that was really only with synergies. But nowadays with Onslaught, Jean, Deadpool, Mr Sinister, he’s not there

Colossus's buff came out when the game was in a much, much different place. At the time he really was one of the best mutants. Since then, the game has sort of moved on. It's been half a decade since then—I don't fault the guy for no longer being at the top.

He is still great for questing though. Especially if you do have a full team with synergies, then he goes nuts. I think the only thing holding him back in that aspect is that he needs such high sig.

Colossus has decent damage, but his main use is as a tank - he has a bunch of immunities, as well as high armor and capping damage on crits. He has some synergies that help with damage, and you always want to cancel heavy into L2 for the fury, but he’s utility and survival rather than raw power
