Question to Kabam (Osaurus) Rex

Hello Kabam (Osaurus) Rex,

i´m a player who enjoys the game really. I like to play the different modes and champs. The new Colloseum looks awesome and fun. I push myself to get better in battlegrounds and the storymode is what i like the most. So thank you for your work!

Now more to my question. And it would make me very happy if you take time to answer it.
In the forum are many posts and conversations about the jubilent crystal. Also i saw videos from content creators like Lagacy. And i agree with them that in a crystal like the Jubilent crystal, there should be no player who open the Jubilent crystal and have a really bad feeling. Even if you compare to last year, like you said. That shouldn't be a rating point out of my perspective as a player. Cause the important thing is to look a the crystal and the player gets a win for sure. Because how rare and special the jubilent crystal is.
I read also your answer in one post and you are right. In the Banquet this year is a big value. The milestones, the sbc are better. And i appreciate und love that.

I think about it a lot and still after i go a step back and look at it.

So when we take a player which has 4500units and get 1 jubilent crystal. The best crystal out of this event. He opens it and he gets 5% T5A or 2x 7 Star Relics. I dont think he would be happy. When this player is a beginer or a endgame player. It makes a very small difference for him in the progression of the account. Maybe the prestige cause of the relics. But i really question that he has a good feeling after the opening. And this should be the main goal for this crystal and you as a company. A really big excitement and a great feeling for the player to open this kind of crystal.

So I come to the same point. A crystal like the jubilent crystal shouldnt have a bad taste for players who spent there units on. And that will happen for sure when this crystal stays at it is. So this leads me to my question. And i hope and wish you answer me straight forward.

Do you think the most players of the players base are happy when they get 5% T5A or 2x 7 star relics ?

- I hope is enough time to change the droprate. I think Lagacy wouldnt mind it if the community gets a better one that he open.
- I don´t like some post cause of the agressive tone of some people. Should be more constructive and the focus on a goal to reach together with you.

There's one thing that needs to happen to correct the perspective of the actual costs of these crystals. I get that the T5a isn't going to be exciting for anyone that isn't spending 10s of thousands of dollars, but the idea that these Jubilant crystals cost 4,500 units is a silly perspective. You don't get a Jubilant crystal for 4,500 units; you get 14 SBCs and a Jubilant crystal, plus whatever milestones those might have triggered a long the way. To lump this entire cost onto the Jubilant crystal is unfair and only makes it seem far worse than reality. At the end of the day, the T5a should really be a 2-3% in the SBC instead of 15% in the Jubilant, but we're not spending exclusively on Jubilant crystals.

I understand your point. And it is valid. Like i wrote it in my post. milestones and the sbc is a really good improvement and love it.

But for this kind of crystal you have to see it in a vacuum. And i think and it seems you agree with that. In the crystal itself should only things that a player remain with a really good feeling. Because thats what you want as a player when you open a crystal like this. And the presentation in the live stream made you hyped and get exciteted about this crystal itself and not what you get on the way till you have the crystal.

The Crystal out of my perspective should be a big W and i imagine i sit at home open this crystal with a big smile on my face. But when you have a serious concern that you get something that you really dont need and want it is a hard disilluioment.

Ant that is the point for me. I really hoped that this crystal is the cherry on top.

It’s too late to change anything, but T5A should really be a 1% drop for 25% of one. I’d like that a lot more. 5% of one T5A is a garbage reward and shouldn’t be in there. T5A should be a rare drop in the SBCs just how T7B was last year.

25% is insane. Some people drop down payments on houses for banquet, they could end up with 10 rank 5 champs with that type of drop.

I‘m sure it would come to a incredible positiv reaction from the player base, when kabam sit down after the they read and see what community thinks about the T5A drope rate in this specifc crystal and make some adjustments. Maybe i´m just a dreamer, but why not.

For me it´s primarily the potential great feelings you have when you open this crystal and only thing that is rng is what kind of great reward you getting. And not the fear of getting something you dont want or need.

Additional, thats one of the reasons why people love this game. To put effort in the game and get great rewards from rare crystals which you benefit from.

No, this guy had a great idea. If you lower the rarity of the drop and increase the amount dropped proportionally, it can even out to the same total amount received.

The guy you're responding to didn't do his math right (but had a great idea), it should actually be 1% chance for 78.75% of a t5a. Yes, this seems like too much, but if you do the math, 1% chance for 78.75% is actually equal to 15.75% chance for 5% (current rate) over a large sample size.

This is what Kabam should've done. They could fiddle with the numbers, maybe make it a 5% chance for 15.75% of t5a. (Again, equals out to the same amount over time). Since the whales are going to be opening these in the hundreds, it will all equalize for them and they won't care what the drop rate is as long as they are getting the same amount. And normal players who will be opening 5 to 10 of these will most likely avoid it easier since the drop rate is smaller.

Yeah, but this would lead to quite a few lucky people getting a R5 without spending any money. And that cannot happen, if you want the total one, then you have to spend an insane amount of money. And people will. It happens every year. What I would like to say to those that think it will suck to pull, is that it will come in handy later. At one point there is always a resource you get that you don't need yet, then it becomes the one you need the most. Very soon there will be the ability to R5 for everyone, this is just a chance for spenders to get ahead.
