Is Quake ACTUALLY too broken to be a 7 star or AT LEAST a 6 star?

I think it’s high time we had quake added to the game as a 6 or 7 star (no pun intended). We have so many busted defenders and attackers now that it’s not unreasonable for her to be brought in. Her damage could be mediated just a bit, but she could still potentially be usable in BGs. All of the boss fights could have a node that would prevent you from absolutely melting them and bypassing all of the fight. And lastly and probably the most important point, she takes a good amount of skill to play, so it’s not like KABAM would be throwing a very easy to use broken attacker into the game - which we already have. She would have some good counters too (Mr.Knight, Crossbones, Black Cat, Zemo to name a few) which wouldn’t make her broken on defense. So who’s picking up what I’m putting down.

I’m bringing this back up because I saw someone using the 5 star for some fights on stream the other day and totally forgot she existed. The fights were just taking too unnecessarily long though

i never liked playing Quake back in the day. Always seemed like the equivalent of using the Silk-lock or something.

Game’s really different now, too. We probably have 2x as many champs to choose from, and everyone has multiple counters. I would probably just bring a champ who counters my opponent rather than use Quake because she essentially ignores the fight dynamics.

Always laughable when I see threads like this, let’s make a list of all the meta defenders she can quake real quick: Attuma, Punisher, Yelena, Bullseye, Capt Britain, Gentle, Jean, Onslaught, Sinister, FAM, Zola, Solvarch, Peni, Sentinel, Galan, Hulkling, Dark Phoenix, Thanos, Medusa, Abs, Kindred, Enchantress, Nico, Rintrah, Sasquatch, Photon, High Evo, MODOK, Rhino, Thing. Probably missed some I’m sure.

Still think she should be a 6* or 7*? Cause I guarantee you that would absolutely break BGs. The ability to KO without landing single hit is way more op than some of you think lol.

NNot Every one can Quake and bake. She requires a lot of skill to continuously dex. I think they need to release her as 6* as is.

I made this suggestion and kabam no listen so I'll make it again.

Release her as 6* with the message that this is a real-world test and that kabam reserves the right to remove her after 60 days. Any resources used to level her up will b refunded. Let's see how much the game will really b "broken".

Are Wolverine and Scarlet Witch doing all the defenders I mentioned? They don’t even handle 50% such a weird comparison. I would highly advise understanding the game better before making an ignorant claim like that one because the game has changed a lot since then. Nobody thinks either of those are broken anymore because defender kits have effectively shut them down completely, the same can’t be said for Quake she still bypasses almost everything.

With the extra attack values and stats absolutely not you’re probably looking at 50-60 sec fights which for a champ who can counter 90% of the entire champ roster with 100% hp and zero hits landed is insane

Honestly, who cares about game balance? The only place where it would be useful would be Alliance War, that is, it depends on the season node.
In seasons like the Big Thing, it would be completely useless. In seasons where it could be useful and wasn't a global attacker, it would certainly be banned in all wars and blacklisted in the following season.
Nobody will use Quake in Act content. Even if they did, honestly, who cares? I don't care if there's someone who would rather spend 3 minutes quaking to do an Act fight. Let people have fun.
Finally, in Battlegrounds, I've played several 3, 4, and 5-star tournaments and I can guarantee it's slow. Still, there's always the option to ban it.
In the Coliseum, nobody will use it and honestly, it doesn't matter.
In Raids, nobody will use it.
The most that can happen is that they use it in incursions. Does anyone care about that?
Today, there are things that are much worse and more problematic than Quake.

Frankly, regardless of if she’s broken or not (she is), she’s just boring and flattens the game to an unreasonable degree. If the opponent counters her evade, you never use her. If they don’t, she’s automatically a top option. She plays the same in literally every matchup that doesn’t bork her because her playstyle allowing her to never once interact with the opponent at all removes basically any and all nuance to the fight, and her 100% Concussion is a good safety net against the rare instances where the opponent might threaten to actually make her play the game. Until they decide to give her the Magik treatment and rework her, I’m happy to leave her in the dust as a 5*.

I’d rather not see anti-evade nodes on countless fights in the future, because that’s what’s going to happen if you add higher rarities of Quake to the game. I get there are people that want to use her, but adding higher rarities is only going to cause Kabam to design fights to ensure she can’t be used to cheese it, because they don’t WANT you to cheese fights, they want you to actually play them. That future design principle for fights will then result in other champions getting caught in the crossfire.

Anti-evade node on a fight to counter Quake? Well, I guess you can’t use Mr. Negative then, either. Do people really need to be dissuaded from ranking champions like Mr. Negative more than they already are? You already don’t see him very often. Why should the addition of higher rarities of Quake push other champions further out of relevancy when they don’t even deserve it in the first place? The easiest solution to that problem is to just not add higher rarities of Quake in the first place.

I have more masters in Alliance War and also more celestials in Battlegrounds than you'll ever have.
Quake was one of the best options for almost everything because there was no answer for almost anything. Nowadays, for any defender and in any scenario, there's a good option. Back then, the most problematic fights were fights with evade or unstoppable. Practically no scientific champions were good, and the slow debuff didn't exist. Almost ten years have passed since its release, and counting the new champions and buffs, we have something close to a hundred champions relevant to the meta in some way. In 2016, there weren't even 20 relevant champions.
Today you can stop her with coldsnap, true strike, power gain, bane node, large health pools, and much more. The game has evolved and is much more complex than it was 10 years ago. A defender in their base kit is much more mechanically complex than a boss from 10 years ago.
Sure, Quake would be relevant today if it had a 6 or 7-star version, but I don't see where you would actually break the game with it.
Scarlet Witch was supposedly game-breaking, it was released and is completely irrelevant. Kabam was afraid to release synergies for the 5-star version. Today we have the 7-star version and nobody uses it anywhere.
Today, we have two competitive game modes: Alliance War and Battleground. It would be very good in one. Almost every month new champions come out that are good in both.

Just let it go she not coming. She is a boring character who is rewarded for not engaging with the game's design. And I'm saying this as one of the most avid quake users back in the day, she was not healthy for the game. Yes, after all, Dark Phoenix is extremely healthy and fun for the game.
The Serpent is extremely healthy and fun for the game.
Have you ever tried playing Yelena without her counters? It's extremely healthy and fun for the game.
Do you know what they all have in common? They prevent you from playing the game as it should be played. You enter the fight and simply die if you don't have the perfect champion to face them.
What is healthy for you? So using dexterity isn't part of the game design? Using heavy isn't part of the game design? What does game design consist of? Entering the fight and using MLLLM? But there are champions who use MLLLL, there are champions who use MLM, there are champions who use Parry + Heavy, there are champions who use LMLM. There are champions who need to intercept with light attacks.There are champions who need to intercept with special attacks.
There are several different mechanics in the game and, well, Quake is part of the game and uses game mechanics. As far as I know, you don't need to download any separate app to use it, and nothing it does is a bug. Everything is described in its profile and works exactly as it should. Its mechanics are so much a part of the game and are intentional, interacting differently with different champions:

You play Quake differently against Killmonger and Domino.
You play Quake differently against Enchantress.
Against Venom, Warlock, and some other aggressive champions, the pace is different and requires adaptation.
It's okay if you find it annoying, I do too, but not everything in the game was made to please you, and just because you don't like it doesn't mean it shouldn't exist, that's an intolerant way of thinking.

Mentioning Dark Phoenix, Yelena, and Serpent isn't some "gotcha" btw, literally the whole community was begging them to be nerfed too. And even then at least theyre trying to rectify that problem by adding more champs that counter them.

And stop being obtuse, literally no character in this game works like Quake does. Obviously dex is part of the game design, but having a character that can win a plethora of fights in a fighting game without fighting is objectively bad game design. All those different playstyles you mentioned actually require you to fight.

Plus you're last point literally contradicts everything you're saying. You say that not everything this game does is meant to please me, yet you're the one complaining that the game isn't releasing a 6 star quake to please you lmao
