This game is centered around alliance gameplay. If you missed the piece because you chose not to be in an alliance, you will have to wait until it’s available for 5,000 units.
I’m sure the data are pretty clear regarding alliances. People in allies probably spend more, are less likely to quit, etc.
Kabam should probably do more to explicitly play up the importance of joint an ally, just so nobody misses the point.
No it's not. When you join this game, you aren't required to join an alliance to have an account. Alliances are an aspect of the game and I have no problem with extra alliance-events that run along side the solos. But, when it comes to characters like this EVERYBODY should have equal access to acquiring the pieces (during the "chase) regardless of whether they're in an alliance or not.
I've been playing the game for the entire 11 years that it has existed and I spend. Not being in an alliance should not preclude players from acquiring all pieces during the "chase".
I’m in an alliance of one - I’m the only member - and the Left Quad blaster was doable for me just with the apparently ‘standard’ colosseum grind.
Definitely a number of things I miss out on by not being in a ‘real’ alliance (Alliance Banquet awards for example), but with my work and travel schedule I can’t reliably do what most alliances are looking for and also don’t want to stress about it. But this wasn’t one of them - seems like Kabam designed this so that all of us could get it with a little bit of effort.
I do totally get the other complaint about this one (only available during a 3 day stretch over the holidays) - luckily I had a few hours of down time during our trip to visit friends for NYE, otherwise I would have missed it for that reason.
Kabam has invested heavily into alliance game modes, some of which are intended for endgame-like players (as seen in Nightmare Raids and Coliseum). As a result, Kabam wants to utilize what they have invested in.
If you choose to not participate in an alliance, that is a choice you will have to reconcile with.
Kabam communicated through in game messaging that you needed to be in an alliance and provided information on when you needed to be in one prior to the event starting. Everyone had equal access.
