Big Thing vs old style wars

I for one think Big Thing wars should become a permanent thing. This game has sooooo much content and 1 fight per person in 48 hours and you're done to enjoy life or do other content is amazing. That's just my opinion though do you agree or disagree?

100% agree, Big Thing actually feels enjoyable I would very much rather fight just one big fat Serpent every two days and be done with it than having to fight a Serpent, a Nico and a Britain with smaller hps on the nastiest nodes ever every two days.

Couldn't agree more. They need to find a way for big thing to stay permanent. But they know my ideas on that so I wont repeat them

Couldn't agree more. Or at least offer an option of each style war map. I'm guessing there's enough of either side that would allow alliances to find enough season wars

If we can get enough on board maybe @Kabam (Osaurus) Rex could run it up the flag pole. We like Big Thing wars. Even BMcG just made a video he left 4LOKI after 4 years because he doesn't like alliance war the way it is so tell your alliance to comment. The more that want the change maybe Kabam will hear us.

I like both formats, Big Thing is easy and fun, regular AW can be fun too and has a depth to planning your paths and bosses that the competitive players enjoy.

At the very least I hope they bring it back before next Christmas. It would be great if alliances could choose between the two.

At the end of the day, it's pretty split regarding which format players enjoy more.
There are a lot of Alliance War players who hate Big Thing - when it launched, it was essentially universally despised until about 3 weeks in, which is a bit ironic as that sentiment has shifted greatly.

We haven't seen the last of it, and I hope for a future where the Alliance War ecosystem can be built out to further accommodate War for all different types of players at all times.

Genuinely asking…. Is it mainly Masters alliances that hate it? I get it as most of the large spenders are in those alliances (like yours). I’d be upset if I built my roster for AW mainly to only get to use 1 defender.

From most other alliances, it seems Big Thing is strongly preferred based on discord, line chats and in here. Maybe there is a solution to where the top 100 alliances (or whatever) get the full map and a separate set of rewards and every else has Big Thing with lower rewards?

Either way, having Big Thing war more often is a win. A suggestion for next time:

A better map and allow bans! Imagine having all season with Yelena on node 3 with Anti Venom, Nefaria and Warlock banned. That’s what makes it fun!

In my Alliance, it's actually more or less split about 50/50 here, as well haha

Such a boring mode. Few people complained about it just because they know it is only a temporary season for Kabam's holiday.

I think most hated it when it first came because they weren't using the node to their advantage they were just playing who works best for what defenders were placed pretty much fighting 12 million health fights and hating it. Yeah if you don't take a buff immune on node 2 I could definitely see how someone could hate that but now it's so many videos and websites with recommendations on what attackers are best that it's changing a lot of perspectives out there.

I have always hated alliance war because of how repetitive and boring the current format was.

Sure, we were all after the SBCs in Big Thing but holy $H!t did I have fun.

Felt like an endgame boss taking down those beefy Serpents and Onslaughts with Nico and Maker.

Now we can’t get SBCs every month but if there was a similar style chase which encouraged alliance members to work together.

All I’m saying is it would greatly shift my perspective on AW.

See i think before battle grounds was a thing I could see how someone might be upset if they ranked up someone specifically for war defense but now any rank up that may have been done can be used for battle grounds defenders.

I agree but I think this would mean you could kinda avoid other alliances on purpose in high tier war, or maybe I'm thinking too hard about it

Just let each alliance's leader pick which option they want to play when enlisting for AW.

Problem solved. They can flip/flop each war, or keep one style forever.

If it's actually 50/50 there will be plenty of teams to match each other up.

At the very least make energy refills for War more accessible. You want your boosts to last for all fights which can be hard if you're the only one using energy on your island

It would be too OP. Imagine someone being able to do their fights in 1 sitting instead of having to wait multiple times for energy, the game would cease to exist. They have to stress you out more than just planning your fights and finding the right time to do it in a day. Either pay the unit fine or log in multiple times, lol

So you say it's boring to you. So what's boring about it and is there something that could be added to Big Thing wars that could make it more enjoyable for you? Maybe adding bans to it where some of the best ones can't be used making you think outside the box or do you just see it as no matter what gets added it will just not be your style at all for fun when it comes to wars? I want to hear from the against Big Thing wars side and if you think it could be better and how.

I have a love hate with it.

On attack it love it as 1 fight and done. If you understand champs and nodes it is hard to lose. Our bg had multiple perfect wars, all ab achieved.

Flip side i hate it because we had the reverse with no kills given either. Setting up a defence is kind of pointless because it is too easy and no one placed anywhere is hard as is, with just a little thought.

Winning or losing on time is no fun it just annoying to lose to passive ai.

Yeah i could definitely see that perspective where if both alliances play perfect it comes down to time and AI behavior. But that's where bans could change that dynamic if they added to Big Thing it wouldn't be just Nico, Onslaught, etc just ripping through everything. Could really trip some up if since it's only 10 fights they upped the bans too making people look for someone besides the best of the best on offense.

I understand the desire to want to let people choose which war they want to do, but we're not considering the knock-on effects of that and how to bring two different types of war together into one cohesive competition.

Yes, matchmaking will probably work fine, but scoring will need adjustments. Big Thing would have to go to 15 ABs per fight to match regular AQ point values. A single empty node in Big Thing would be the equivalent of five in regular, which is a huge advantage for the alliance doing Big Thing. A team of three to cover four or more fights is a considerable disadvantage compared to prepping two champs for one fight. In regular AW you can manage with 9, but in Big Things it will cost you significantly. And then if you're in a lower tier then an alliance of three people could effectively get the same rewards as an alliance of 30 participants.

Big Thing would be my preferred choice between the two, but either way it has to be one of the two. The two cannot coexist.

There's just not enough variety in Big Thing for it to be permanent. Imagine doing the same exact few fights for years. It already got boring in the 1 month we had it. They'd need to change all the nodes each month, because even every saga would be too infrequent to avoid it getting stale.

Members in my alliance don't play both types of maps so it doesn't matter which map Kabam use, players aren't playing

Can we find a middle ground?

Something like 4 fights, 9 paths and a backup player.

That backup is kinda important part of the war, it's to give alliances a chance to cover for someone who jumped or gets stuck with irl situation.
