Thoughts on the Doctor Strange rework?

Definitely one of the safest and fun champs, with all the special spamming, utility and buff control, with good damage. I think he'll be a good option for everest content as well with his ramp up. Plus he's surprisingly versatile even outside of buff heavy matchups

I really enjoy how safe he is, and after testing him out for a little bit he seems really fun to play. His loop is a little complicated and confusing to learn at first, but it gets smooth once you get the hang of it. He also has a **** ton of utility and great damage on top, which is always really nice to have. Overall just a nice, well-rounded champion, and an incredible rework in my opinion

Haven’t tested him yet, but what is this Utility that you are referring to?

I look at the kit and see buff control, some power control, and then the heavy combo and heavy pause ability.

These seem like standard Mystic type abilities - is there something I’m missing?

For example, with Wong I see the utility of unstoppable heavies and unblockable specials, letting him do safe intercepts or be workable in stun immune contexts.

I actually think I like his old animation more. His clothes looked more like mage, now he's more like power ranger or smth, it's too fit and shiny. His sps animations are kinda stale, like his extra hands are just there, they don't really do anything most of the time. Compared to sym supreme, who has some eyes rotating and overall looks very smooth, I'm a little disappointed. The train thing looks ok, but I can't stop questioning myself if it's empty or did he throw some civilians on the enemy

I actually really love his buff. I think he'll have a few good matchups in Battle Grounds and may dominate a few meta's here and there, but I plan to use him everywhere else all the time. He's always been my favorite Marvel character and my favorite old school MCoC champ so it's a genuine smile maker for me personally that he's this good.

Also, there's something kind of hilarious about the constant whipping of the special two. I've chuckled a few times for sure over it.

He does not have power control or health steal. He does not counter miss or evade or passive unstoppables. No immunities. The charcter Model is very good looking but the rest of the animations are very underwhelming . He looks like he was buffed Last year not this year.

Yeah, to me it just seems like he does "Mystic things + ramp damage". Even Wiccan gets to have RC immunity, armor break immunity, block unblockable specials from Cosmics on top of his Mystic abilities.

His unique utility seems to be the Mister Sinister esque pause while heavy charging and the Science champion Wither access.

I guess he can prolong wither power control while charging heavy, but its not like I can prolong his coldsnap or incinerate very much. It would have been cool if he was actually like Mister Sinister, with a focus on stacking DoT effects and pausing it. That would have helped him be different from the other Mystics.

I’m very pleased with the rework. Just testing the 6* he’s got a ton of utility and sustainability plus very good damage. Feels a fair bit like old Strange with solid updates.

Have been using him in Arena and liked how they made him with more utility. Not to the extent of Magneto but this is a huge improvement. Would be great if 7 star version is attainable in near future

I hate the double tap block mechanic it sometimes very hard to do and also you need opponent to be stunned to do that

I wish he had unblockable special while charging heavy so we can also dash back charge heavy double tap block dump the power and immediately sp so opponent can't hit you

You can do it while charging your heavy. The opponent is stunned during your heavy charge

Couldn’t be happier about it. He may not be a generic BG attacker but he feels exactly what I would have imagined a Dr. Strange being in this game (minus the power control, def wish he had that).

He would feel so much better if he had just automatically had a fractured power, not sure why they decided to go with the double tap instead it’s not like he’s this Tigra level attacker so you need to add some complexity to his playstyle. He’s really just there to nuke Serpent and Hulkling, not sure how well he can handle Dark Phoenix and Thanos. Other than that tho, huge W, already can see him being more relevant than Cyclops was when his buff was released

Eh, I really wouldn't say that, since both of them fill different niches in the game. Cyclops is one of MCOC's biggest nukes, while Dr. Strange is a lot more utility focused and a bit less flashy imo. It really just depends on what you're looking for. I personally love Cyclops and use him for the fun of it, but I'm not really sure where I'm going to use Dr. Strange given that so many other mystic champs already fill his niche, and he just seems really confusing to play

There hasn’t been a single BGs meta since his release where I actually got any use out of him and mine’s r3, out of all the Bullseye counters he’s probably one of the worst and he can’t do Yelena or Nick better than the Cassandras and DPXs. He’s mediocre even for the matchups he’s supposed to counter well such as those with thorns because the adrenaline decays before you can even recover all the damage. If you think Strange has less value than Cyclops idk what to tell you man, play more BGs and AW, less story mode cause that is literally the only mode where Cyclops truly shines.

That too, intercepting with him is weird because of AI and ironically enough I find myself getting light intercepted with him more than with champs who don’t make opponents more aggressive. Just terrible, nothing in his kit makes him decent enough for him to be more than just arena fodder and a decent quester for both short mid and long form content.
