I was extremely hyped for Blue Marvel. I still kinda am…. but the slowed down tapping SP2 mechanic alongside the tapping you need to do during heavy attacks, is just not appealing to me. In long-form content with huge healthpools… that slowed SP2 is gonna get so stale and annoying very quickly. I’m not a fan of the slowed down, interactive stuff they give champs now and again…
He’s also not a BG’s champ in any way, which I wouldn’t mind if BG’s wasn’t the only relevant content that we can play consistently for consistent rewards. & even during the times his might be useful in BG’s…. his slowed down SP2 is doing nothing but wasting time 🤕 I just hate the interactive slowed down BS they gave him.
I’m now more hyped for M’Baku than Blue Marvel. M’Baku has easy access and reliable utility, and doesn’t require interactive and slowed down specials and heavy attacks that just aren’t needed.
I might make a Blue Marvel centred thread to hear what people think tbh.
Blue Marvel is only the 4th Hyperion (and people against Colossus AoA 🤣)
You know, Im 100% hype to get M'Baku
Uh uh uh uh
Yibambe!
Honestly he should work fine for BGs. The slow down time doesn’t affect the BGs timer, as far as I’m aware.
@EdisonLaw I don’t think the timer slows down along with his specials… so unless it does, i’m pretty sure the slowed down specials will drag on the fight for at least a second or two. It would be great if it doesn’t waste time somehow though.
Either way, the other issues I have with the slowed down interactive stuff are the same. At least M’Baku doesn’t make me have to tap the screen to activate abilities when most champs don’t have this pointless mechanic. It really just acts as an extra-step to get to the same destination.
Here are the rotation videos. I’ll post the Deep Dives here during the weekend
Thanks Edison
For me im gonna say m'baku he seem simple and straight forward and has good utilities with his anti evade and unstoppable, counter punch like gameplay and some good immunities. Also they never adressed the marked passive looking thing which i feel could be his awakened ability. Cant wait to try him in a week! 😊
The fact that he got four agrees when the rotation is still double sp1 sp2 is absolutely hilarious lmfao.
Anyways definitely Mbaku, Blue Marvel looks mid for anything that isn't long form content.
Luke Cage over Blue Marvel lets be real here. M'Baku looks like a solid skill champ happy about that
The agrees are not because I may be 100% correct but it’s because people tend to judge champs too early. Look at Mr Knight, Maker, when they first released compared to now. Once people called them mid but not now. Don’t instantly jump to final conclusions if we don’t even have access to him yet
It’d be weird for a skill champ to have self marked or even death immunity, so I’m guessing that’s not it
Maker and Mr. Knight always had the damage they’re just not that crazy because they do fights in 60-70 secs. Blue Marvel has no way to deal big damage until he throws sp1 sp1 sp2 making every fight way too long for him to get you any wins realistically especially during nuke metas
Mbaku looks like a solid attacker, especially with High Evo being ascendable.
Blue Marvel doesn't seem great for BG attack, but he might have potential as a defender, depending on what the actual kit details are.
I can't believe I'm actually agreeing with Edison, but I am lol - don't judge too quick. It's VERY likely he starts partially ramped in BGs, just like Serpent or Spider-Punk. I highly doubt they'd make the same mistake they did with Sentry and not make one of the most beloved and anticipated Marvel characters not viable in the most "important" gamemode right now. They didn't explain what his Persistent Charges do, and those could be the answer.
Additionally, some of the best champs in the game don't work in nuke metas - my own personal take is that I don't care. If you genuinely believe every champ should release as a BGs nuke, that's on you
If he starts partially ramped and the loop goes from sp1 sp1 sp2 down to sp1 sp2 then yes you have an argument, that’s the only thing that could really save it.
As for the “every champ this every champ that” comment can you quote where exactly I said every champ has to be a nuke? Cause I didn’t, and I myself use Maker (Mr. Knight starting to get there too but not quite yet cause he’s low sig). However, if a champ has to throw three special attacks for a BGs sized hp it is pretty bad, if the rotation was sp1 sp1 sp1 like Mr. Knight then it wouldn’t be too bad but the fact that it’s sp1 sp1 sp2 is just terrible that’s four bars of power you need to get big numbers out of him. So yes, unless he starts partially ramped he will be mid for BGs, we’ll see
Blue Marvel seems to have the potential for large healthpools.
M'Baku, to be honest, seems weak. He put up a solid fight against Spider-Woman, but if it was on the test server, she doesn't have proficiencies, so she doesn't have the damage reduction from inequity. The fight in a normal Battlegrounds scenario would be 20% longer. I already found it a bit longer than it should be.
I miss champions that bring new or useful things to the game. Not that the latest champions are bad, but they aren't better or more useful than the ones that already exist, nor do they bring anything new.
Maybe because of the amount of Titan Crystals that many people acquired, they are interested in weakening the Titan Crystal.
Pavitr is the most relevant champion. And many people have already picked him up in the pass.
Doctor Strange is great, i really want him
I dont care too much about Heimdall buff
M'Baku is worst than Crossbones, so…
JJJ seems like a worst Zola.
Blue Marvel seems interesting, but I don't know if I need him now.
Since i have all titans champions, probably i will wait 120 more days for the next batch of titan crystal pool.
Dude most skill champs are way worse than crossbones on attack that's a terrible indicator on whether a skill champ is good or not. Mbaku and bones don't do the same thing and they haven't even revealed what mbaku fully does
Well most champion testing is on the CCP without masteries

M’Baku deep dive and spotlight is here
So far, he like a simple skill champ with bleeds, furies, unstoppable, true accuracy and burst damage. The last time we got a skill champ with true accuracy was Bullseye
But, keep in mind, during the stream, there were no masteries such as Inequity when they tested him against Spiderwoman, so his damage may actually be slightly lower in BGs
So what's with that marked symbol with mbaku? No mention of it in the deep dive
I believe it’s the burst damage counter same with lizard
Seems like a decent utility champ, but overall, not impressed
Not super excited watching gameplay from either, but I’d choose M’baku over Marvel based on what I saw.
Makes me more than a little bit sad seeing M’baku gameplay though—hard to believe Killmonger and T’challa won’t be among the top three Wakandans in a Marvel game.
Dr. Zola
The excuse that "Not everyone needs to be good in BGs" is finally valid now that Coliseum is out. A couple of months ago I would have said Blue Marvel looks like fodder but he is actually insane once ramped. The future is Coliseum, BGs is outdated P2W fodder.
Yet everyone seems to say only BGs matter nowadays lol
BGs is officially dead. 0 reason to play it unless you're playing it for fun.
The rewards for whales are useless. F2P can't even compete for meaningful radiance either.
You get so much better rewards for less effort by just beating one week of solo coliseum. Combine that with Alliance coliseum and there is just no reason to play BGs anymore.
Kabam has even said that elder eq will no longer force you to swap champs. We can finally use ramp up champs.
The future of Mcoc is clearly long form content.
Speaking of Coliseum, Vision Aarkus once buffed will be one of the best attackers in the game for sure. Being able to pause that sp3 fury will be insane.
