Well it turn out, that wasn't how we meant for them to work, so we going "fix" it now, yep those champions we sold for, with the video Deep Diver showing how strong they were, well they not now, hey ho,

And of course this is nothing to do with our lack of testing before selling a product, and we were planning to keep the community well information, it just that your were too fast at finding out the problem"

Kingpin, Shocker and now Onslaught, Jean Grey, Cassandra, Deadpool XF, Gentle.

Year in year out, 9 months downhill, then 3 months "top of the pop" right before the big sale, and the cycle continue. It is getting really old Kabam, and you wonder why your players (customers) have a problem with trusting you.

The conclusion to the situation is 5 of the top Mutant champions been nerf (Onslaught have been out for 2 years and NOW Kabam realised he not working as he should? REALLY? Seriously?

A lot of players would have these champions ranked up as high as they could (and put sig stone into them, thank to the MEQ rewards link to Prestige). All of them no long functions as they were, as players have used them and ranked up for.

So while there are 5 champions that are effected by this, I'm only asking for 2 Rank Down tickets.

Now if Kabam can't do Class Rank Down Tickets and maybe Mutant Rank Up ticket instead, so players can use the resources they wasted on other Mutant champions.

Honestly this is such a niche situation, bypassing protection has never been a big deal for these mutants it was more of a nice utility piece. But on the other side this fix benefits champs like Dthanos and fixes a big negatively affecting them. This won’t have a noticeable impact on the mutants and it’s not worth freaking out about.

Not saying Kabam making a change it a niche situation. I mean using Daunted to bypass protection is the niche situation. And Did you read the post by Kabam about the situation? They are working on the fix for Valk and Hulkling, this fix was related to that and wasn’t intended to go live yet. It wasn’t some shadow nerf.

Eh, I don't really see what the big hubbub is about. Like Predator said, it feels so incredibly niche. In some few instances, you won't be making as much damage as you do now; and in some other few instances, you'll make more damage than you do now.

The issue I have is with Kabam's communication. I understand that things probably happened quite quickly behind the scenes due to the necessity of a quick bug fix, but pushing out this kind of update without telling people will still needlessly (but understandably) ruffle some feathers.

But still, after reading their explanation, I just kind of feel…eh. If it had been a change that had only affected players negatively, that would have been one thing. But that's not the case. It's more of a "some good, some bad" situation that ultimately kind of balances out (at least in my eyes).

Ahhh so you are saying they are incompetent, something they didn't intented to happen happened, that seem to happen a lot these days. 🤣

Funny how the explanation always come after the players noticed the problem, like the Hulkling and Valkyrie situation.

Also this is not a Niche situation, there are so many Nodes that have Protection and Kabam loving adding Protection into new champions. So yeah it does and will have a big impact to the players.

How many players have focus on ranking up these specific Mutant champions?

Who else being consider as the top Mutant, Mr Sinister, Dust and Havok?

So 5 out of 8 Mutant got instant nerf because of this "fix" and the community should just rollover and take it?

Incompetent is a strong word but Kabam is definitely known for accidentally breaking things basically everytime they update the game.

Yes protection is common in the game but no one was ranking up these champs because daunted could bypass protection, they ranked them because they are strong champs. And even with this change they will still be strong. This isn’t a nerf, Daunted was never intended to bypass protection and so Kabam has the right to fix it. It will also benefit champs with protection. Other games do fixes like this too, it’s not a crazy thing.

Here are 2 very quick example of players aware of how Protection will now affected, and that was a quick look on the forum.

There are plenty on YT too, and sure there will be many more that are not on the forum.

How many players have used DPXF against some of the protection champions, how many have ranked him up seeing video and discussion about it.

I think it is a bigger issue than you may think.

However it might be, Onslaught have been working like this for over 2 years, to "fix" him now without some kind of action to compensate to the players that ranked these champions sure doesn't feel right.

Funny how Kabam keep "fix" their problem, but players are the one the pay the price.

I don't think there's a single video talking about or recommending daunted mutants for bypassing protection, so I'd still say it's niche. Having a grand total of two people that knew and took advantage of this doesn't really change the fact that it's niche.

I'm genuinely curious though- how many people demanding RDT's would actually use them on the affected champs? Because even with this change, Onslaught, Jean, and DPX are still the best mutants in the game, and Onsie/Jean are still two of the best champs in the game period. I doubt people would rank them down just because they can't bypass D. Thanos's protection by a little bit anymore- no one uses them against him and gets a good score anyway.

(Make no mistake, I'm still against Kabam for deciding to not communicate this in the patch notes AT ALL. That's ridiculous and scummy.)

If its only a niche interaction it should've stayed. If it had to be changed "for the betterment of the game" it should've been communicated far better than waiting for someone to find it first.

I also caught the said 'fix' when I used onslaught vs Thanos in current gc meta. I actually thought that they "fixed" it and it must be in patch nodes. I kinda care less when things change. And no I'm not one of those who was using daunted against protections, maybe, but I never noticed this interaction outside nuking thanos in power shield.

Nobody in the forums pointed out few fixes they made but not communicated.

One bug was the Raid hack getting carried over to AQ. I was exploiting it, bite me lmao. But I felt better after it got patched. Now I can use the actual cheese champ in raids and not the slowpoke I was using cuz I brought that champ in aq to do 15 seconds fights. I did went to see patch notes and it wasn't there.

There are couple more fixes that were not communicated in patch notes but I can't remember them now.

Communication is missing. That's my take in this drama.

They won’t give out rank down gems unfortunately, they wouldn’t send out rank down gems for Titania (which they should’ve) when they nerfed her straight to hell

The change is not a big deal like @ThePredator1001 said. in fact I only know yesterday that onsie can actually bypass protection lol.

But the problem here is how kabam is shady on making these changes. They could've keep it as it is but hey, we gotta disappoint the community in some way right?

But all this demading rank down tickets is a bit silly. None of you are gonna be ranking down Onslaught, Jean or DPX over this ffs.

And may I ask how would you know what other players will do?

I know that out of the 5 champions affected, there are at least 2 that I would ranked down.

If you not going to use it then you don't have, other might want to and rightly so to ask for rank down tickets.

You're either straight up lying if you didnt know about daunted bypassing protection mechanics or you arent playing high enough in battlegrounds or alliance war to be in the situations where it's more common.

I don't play war. And whenever it happened with Dthanos ,I assumed it was because he didn't have enough charges.

I never noticed it overriding Protection cause I always thought it was the last line of damage calculation

Well Kabam always say that they appreciate pur patience. So no need to get stress and upset, just be patient.

I promise thing will magically improve in about 9 months time, we might get the Rank Down Tickets then.

Just so glad Kabam isn't a cleaning company because those carpets have a lot of things under them (oh hi there Titania with your SP3, didn't see you behind Kingpin and Shocker)
