I am wondering why they always set healing to missing health instead of max health. X23 got the same treatment and her regen is essentially nerfed. Other champs like Mister Sinister have great regeneration but are always blocked by some mechanic like inequity or reduced regeneration rate.

And as you said some nodes interfere with Regen on other quests.
But, on Incursions, Champions regen a lot.
So, its working as intended.

People called me crazy, Man-Thing was my first ever rank 3. Turns out I was a visionary.
Because the game has evolved and max health regeneration is harder to balance and in a lot of instances makes defender attack rating higher to compensate.
Functionally there's no difference between being at 100% health or 50% health, regen is to keep you alive not keep you permanently topped off. I agree x23 probably got too much of her regen taken away but missing health regen just makes more sense from a gameplay perspective since a character being able to heal to full constantly would require defenders to hit harder to
The biggest difference is that now agitation is way easier to build as an attacker since you dont have to constantly do mediums and can actually go for the heavy and specials mainly while still building agitation. I played him a ton and building agitation felt like a seperate thing to his actual loop whereas now its Incorporated. He was always a gradual damage dealer but now having stronger furies will give him some more weight
I wonder how much of a difference that will make in terms of damage output and speed tho, Man-Thing has always been one of my favorite mystics but he's just so so slow. I noticed they're also increasing fury potency let's hope the fury is actually a big one after the buff

Not really.
It's just that regeneration based on Base health is more powerful for Attackers; whereas regeneration based on Missing health is more powerful for defenders.
That's because regular regeneration is based on the champs base (unboosted) health, but regeneration based on Missing health scales with nodes/boosts.
