Finally Got Him

A year ago today I had 0 deathless champs, and now after a lot of grinding and some spending, I finally got Thanos.

I probably could've gotten him sooner, but it was only after the announcement of ascension that I realized 8s weren't coming and that the 7* Deathless Thanos was here to stay for a while. Had I chased him earlier, I would've done things differently, like choose the deathless piece from WoF instead of the titan nexus, or not sell one of the deathless pieces for random mats during a different event. Oh well...My advice for those starting their journey to get him is to do your research, map out all the available pieces in content carefully so that you don't waste any resources.

I don't really know how to play him on attack, but I've seen enough to know that he will be my first R5. I will have enough T5A after this week's coliseum, just will be short 2 T4As. Maybe I can grind another 1500 units by week's end to get one of those romance bundles, or maybe I'll just wait a little bit more, but it's definitely on the horizon.

DThanos is so awesome - but can be tricky to play well, plus relies a little on AI cooperation.

You want to usually start by throwing a couple of SP1s with enough charges to stack up the 8 Furies, mixed in with blocking while you have the unstoppable charge and retaliating when you become unstoppable to keep your abilities paused.

Cancel your combo into a heavy (MLLLH a la Wasp, Silk, Phoenix, etc) to inflict Armour Break and Shatter and/or build up to SP2 to inflict those nasty DoTs (can't remember what they're called) accordingly.

In longer fights, throw a couple of SP3s in early because they inflict permament DoT passives which naturally stack up over time.

The tricky part is remembering to get those Block>Unstoppable>Retaliate in regularly to keep things paused (NOTE: this doesn't happen if you parry, only when you just Block, but it also works if you block the last hit of a special)

congrats, I felt bad for not learning how to use him until the recent Alliance Coliseum. He is very good on attack too.

My rule is not spend on mats but mainly on crystals but you do you buddy. I am still 1 T5 short for my first rank 5 but I am in no rush.

If you start with 0 pieces and buy all of them from the unit store, it is 100k units (4 champs x 5 pieces each x 5k units per piece).

Of course that's insane.

For me, I don't recall exact details, but I got all 5 pieces available from the radiance store, then got one whole deathless champ from banquet, and then had a few pieces in my stash from random content. So I ended up probably buying 4 or 5 pieces from the unit store, so around 20-25k units total spent.
