i think this is all unknown at this point.
We know it's a crystal, so it has to be RNG.
And that's also why with Pavitr and Lizard, they said we would get the ascension materials, so those aren't crystals but the actual ascension mats.
what do you mean “we know it’s a crystal”?
I haven’t been able to figure out what the process is ( if any) for choosing champs to ascend.
Pretty sure we cannot pick and select whoever we want to ascend.
The 'materials' are shards towards super duper pool thing, Or whatever the other pool is…
Whoever bought spider pp, will be given 7A automatically. Whoever pulled lizard how many amounts of times will be given 7A and the shards towards a pool.
It is a rng crystal.
(Im 90% sure about this)
It's a 8*(technically) but uses 7* sigs and that's the most positive thing about it.
So what we think is that there will be different pools (like the statcast batches), each with their own crystal; some of the mats will be general / class / champ specific but we don’t know for sure.
So I’m earning shards to open an RNG crystal that will dictate which champ I am able to ascend from a pool of mostly mid champs.
Sounds great. Like, really awesome.
This comment sums it up.
That thread is muted now.
You are earning shards to open the Super-Duper Ascension Box from 7 Star dupes. Other Ascensions will be sourced via new Crystals, similar to 7 Stars.
can you help us understand what is the player’s choice vs what is RNG?
7A are pure rng.
Except pavitra lizard. Etc.
But we get to keep the sigs and awakenings.
If someone doesn't own a champ, and they pull it from 7A crystal: It comes with a copy of the champ, now you have that champ(7) and it is ascended(A) = 7A.
One thing I don't know is, if pulling a champ out of 7A crystal comes with a dupe + 20 sigs or not.
It's all rng outside of lizard and pavitr. We're getting their tokens in the mail
do we know if it’s a single token or some mats you have to collect (like 200 dust)
further question — based on your notes, all of these “best champions to ascend” videos are completely pointless. Right? It doesn’t matter which champion is best to ascend if I’m just gonna get some random crystal which spits out a random token that will grant me the privilege of ascending r1 dragon man.
From what we know it takes 3 items to ascend a champ.
Greater t2 dust
Champ specific tokens
Class tokens
In varying amounts per level
Imo all those kinds of videos are pointless outside of entertainment because the answer is always "the best champion to rank, sig, or ascend is the one you want to the most" so im not the person to ask about that
If it’s all RNG then this sounds like ass honestly, ain’t no way I’m gonna r4 Patriot just because I got his ascension dust and only then will he be somewhat useful. If they want mid champs to be used more then how about they buff them, ascension doesn’t solve the issue for the most part.
The dust looked universal. I think only the champ tokens will be hyper specific.
Whatever it is, if I don’t get to pick who I ascend then I think this is going to be a big L. There’s what around 30-40 champs who will be ascendable no? We don’t even know how many tokens we will need for one rank of ascension if it’s more than two then that makes it even worse. We’ll see I suppose, but I’m not excited 80% of that pool is ass, and if their goal is to make mid champs more relevant then they should buff them properly instead of doing this.
yeah, I agree. Ultra limited pool for starters. RNG on top of that. I have mentally checked out of this whole ascension thing. The right R4’s will be plenty good enough.
While I'm also planning to R5 a champ who's not currently ascendable (Thanos), I do have some concerns about the lack of information.
Mostly, I don't want to R5 say Captain Britain or Serpent or FAM or Okoye if they won't be ascendable until other champs become A2 or A3 or A4 or A5 or A6 or A7 or A8 or A9 or A10 or A11.
The fact that we have to make R5 decisions while not knowing about the short-term and long-term viability of our champs is very frustrating.
I'm sure Kabam has a plan to release a Mega Duper Ascension crystal with every Odin in one of the future sales, and that crystal will have the ascension tokens for one good champ like Serpent and 19 crappy champs.
So we'll be hunting and spending for champs we already own basically. It's like if each R4 gem had been champ specific.
By the way, I don't have an issue with rank-up mats, tokens, dust, including class-specific ones.
But having champ-specific rank-up mats is a whole new level of RNG and (I'm sure) monetization.
yeah, the fact that they aren’t providing this kind of information makes me think that they know the info isn’t going to be well-received.
This is never why information is not released. If anything, I prefer information that won't be received well to be out earlier than later. There will be new Crystals that contain "Cluster Drops" - these drop Ascension materials alongside the Champion themself - this information has already been revealed.
The power level of Ascension relative to unascended R4/R5 Champions has also been revealed. Rank 5ing a Champion that cannot be immediately Ascendable is entirely viable (something I have already done, and will continue to do).
Right, that's what many people are comfortable with doing, too.
But can you clarify whether a champ like DThanos will become ascendable before the currently ascendable champs become eligible for their second or third or even higher tiers of ascension?
An R5 Thanos or Serpent or other OP champ can hold their own against an R5 A1 Hit Monkey or Adam Warlock, but will they also have to hold their own against R5 A2 or A3 or A4 champs before they become eligible for their first level of ascension? What will the gap be? When will it close, if ever? How large does the ascension gap get between champs? Or is this all fluid and just up to whatever the game team decides to do depending on how they're feeling about things?
Can't imagine it's anything more than systemic by the game team and fluid to us. The same way for any new star level release. We dont know who will be the next rarity, when, or if they ever will be
There's a difference between Quake never becoming a 6 star, and Serpent not becoming A1 until Pavitr becomes A3 or A5 or A10.
Ultimately, you're asking me to tell you what exactly is going to happen years from now. There are over 300 Champions - I cannot lay out the timeline for each one, and frankly, that information for each Champion is not yet decided.
Treat 7A acquisition as new rarity.
Everyones fav OP champs, at this exact moment, just got rarity locked.
The difference is we can take the beloved old 7s to r5/r6, the 7r5As and 7r5A2s are reseverd for mid champion pool, with some exceptions, for the time being.
I don't mind it. Thats how a new rarity have stoped OP champs power creep. Just don't try to butter it up, Oh look wow the amazing 7A1 gorr.. lol.
I would respectfully suggest you guys consolidate all the information into a single post that lays out — from the players perspective — how the whole thing works.
What do we need, how much do we need, where do we earn it / buy it, what are the timelines, which resources will be individually available vs clustered, where do we have choice bs where is it a factor of RNG, etc.
i pay pretty close attention to your comms across various channels, and its not at all clear at the moment.
@Kabam (Osaurus) Rex Sooooo………. am I gonna have to wait for RNG to give me the ascension for the champ I want to ascend? If ascension will be RNG based then it will change who I rank up. Is it RNG based yah or nah?
