Are you excited about the upcoming champion buffs?

I really like all the new champion buff announcements, it always excite me. But too often they end up disappointing. Some champs have received second or even third buffs and still aren’t good. I hope the upcoming ones break that trend.

Champs like Aarkus, Sam Wilson, iDoom, Sandman, and Man-Thing don’t need much to become great, yet part of me worries their buffs might miss the mark. But I’ll stay optimistic.

If done right, these buffs could meaningfully impact competitive modes. We have over 300 characters, yet diversity is still an issue because it’s the same champs everywhere. I understand some champs will always be stronger, but the margins should be thoughtful.

I get the argument that powerful champs sell. I’m not saying every champ should be equal, but the power gap deserves more thoughtful balance. That’s part of the developers /designers job to decide how strong a champ should be relative to the overall health of the game while still making them sale appealing. We all deal with complex responsibilities in our own work.

One player might run DThanos or Serpent because they’re powerful. Another like Aarkus because he’s very capable. That feels good. Not the same champs on the nodes and almost identical decks in BGs. I’ve faced players in BGs using “weird” R4s, and I respect them for playing the game the they want but they often lose because those champs weren’t designed to compete. That’s frustrating. That’s kills vibe.

I hope Kabam uses these buffs to narrow the gap and improve diversity. It would make the game more fun. Anyways my 2 cents.

Captain America Sam Wilson is a cool one for me because he’s a Captain America that actually had unique, smooth animations. Also Idoom because of how cool the character is in general, and the comic storyline that he’s part of. His buff doesn’t look that crazy but we don’t know until we get it. Idoom is definitely the coolest champ chosen for a buff. Helps that he’s 3rd highest prestige too. Just hope his buff looks better than it does on paper. Looks like he will go from mid to a little better than mid. Storm X should be awesome. Emma Frost too.

Overall, just a very good pool of champs getting a tune-up.

(Idk how they skipped a Mr Negative tune-up though).

At least put the photon and negative synergy into his base kit

I absolutely love Infamous Ironman, I know people say he is mid and all that, but i won numerous matchups in BG diamond and vibranium with him, his power control makes the fight easy, and the damage is more than good enough in my experience, he is also excellent for questing (i did not rank him for prestige and all that, i am in a chill alliance, we don't really do AW or AQ) , he was my first tech 7*, and i used him everywhere, and i don't plan of stop using him. I read about the buff, but honestly , not much changed, maybe 10% more damage? and slightly better agaisnt mystic champions? thats alright with me, lets see some more iDoom love.

My bad, just reading watching some videos about the buffs. I feel like many will need another buff a year or 2 later if they're to be relevant or maintain it. Maybe with their attack increase they might compete. We'll see.
