One of her synergies is called ghosts and goblins and features ghost, green goblin and a coming soon champion. Seems fairly likely that it'll be hobgoblin either in April as a spiderverse month or maybe later in the year for Halloween

Unless of course its another goblin like gold goblin, ultimate green goblin or demogoblin, or possibly even another ghost character like red ghost, or maybe an actual ghost like Agatha harkness

At the very least 2 levels of ascension wont be equivalent to the difference between a r4 and a r5. By the time her ascension is out we probably wont have more than an extra level of ascension of 2 so punching up wont be as much of an issue

She looks like one of the most unique mystics I’ve ever seen yet, with her forcefield, goblin pit, she punishes buff potency instead of removing them. I wonder how she is as a defender.

I appreciate your reply, but I’m struggling really hard to not call this a cope. So instead of Kabam screwing us a lot (full rank up level of power), I should be ok with Kabam screwing us a little (ascension level of power)? Punching up is still punching up at the end of the day…and it affects a vast majority of the players.

She looks really freaking cool, and if I like her, I will still be ranking her up highly. Doesn’t mean the FOMO won’t suck

Im not coping, i just think at most new champions are going to be at ascension 1 for people that pull them once from a featured crystal and the argument that it creates bad power gaps is only valid if you think that you cant ascend champions at all. You can still ascend a pool of 36 champions free to play at launch, more if you count Lizard, and unless you're an absolute mega whale you'll likely only be what, 5% power level lower than the same champ but at ascension 1?

This is an issue mostly for top-tier PvP players, where any increase in power matters a lot.

I just don't see myself investing in and ranking up a champ that my opponent can ascend but I cannot.

Which in this situation means any new champ.

And yes, the overall % of players getting new champs from the featured crystals is small.

But if you're playing in high-tier BGs or War, then you are already seeing a bunch of shiny R5 sig 200 Dr. Stranges and other new champs.

So why would I run a R5 sig 200 unascended Dr. Strange if my opponent will be running an ascended one? That is a disadvantage.

Instead, I will Rank 5 champs I can ascend (although the current non-paywalled pool is mostly garbage) or champs that no one can ascend, like Kushala Thanos et cetera.

But what happens when Kabam starts releasing new OP champs? Then you're dealing with multiple ascended champs you cannot ascend and do not have enough room to ban….

using the current pool of not great champs is not a great example. New champs will outshine this pool immediately. I’m not going to go down the list but giving destroyer or gorr ascension up against Dr strange or Madelyn Pryor is not a close contest. A power gap, is a power gap, is a power gap. And there were already gaps, this just makes it wider. And every advantage matters in war or BGs

if you think the likes of gorr, destroyer, and patriot are comparable to new champs, then you’re full of it. Good champs in the base pool are an exception, not the rule

I don't think Agatha Harkness fits here at all. The thing is, these kinds of generic synergies with a tag usually feature all champions associated with that tag. Agatha isn't a villain.

From a narrative point (if that makes sense), Demogoblin is definitely the better fit. Let me explain why, for those who might not know. The transformation of Hobgoblin into Demogoblin is directly linked to the Inferno event in New York. During this time, the already insane Madelyne, along with N'astirh, attempted to open a gateway between Limbo and Earth, sacrificing children, including her own son, Cable. Hobgoblin tracked the path to Limbo's lair and challenged N'astirh. N'astirh laughed at this fool but ultimately possessed his soul. This demonic soul then broke free and became Demogoblin. He also frequently hung out with the goblins from Limbo. So if it has even the slightest plot context (with the demons/goblins of Limbo and Maddie herself), then it's a good option.

Agatha absolutely would be a villain. She's based on the mcu version who was a villain when that vote happened and I would argue she's still a villain

Agatha should absolutely be released this year, she is way too iconic to not be in the game, also Mystique when? been waiting since i started playing this game

Comics Agatha was turned young recently turned on the heroes and it led to the literal birth of a new darkhold in the form of a child and has been chosen as sorcerer Supreme by the vishanti which means she is at odds with Wanda who has claimed the mantle herself so it may not be too improbable for her to be in synergy with Maddie as her path somewhat mirrors her even if she almost has never been associated with her in the comics.
