Battlegrounds Is Officially Unplayable Now

The System is officially rigged against lower accounts.

5 Bans and 40 Champion Deck Sizes = Get Roster Stomped

That means 4 extra bans of potentially meta-relevant champs, of which lower accounts are limited to R4s.

10 Banned Champs would be around 50%-75% of a lower accounts' R4s, whereas higher accounts have double the amount.
That has no sizable impact on them.

Also, 20 MORE Champs are added to the playing field...for higher accounts, this means MORE R4s, as R5s/Ascended are more likely to get Banned.

Good thing, I don't play MCOC for Battlegrounds.
Story Mode and Carina's Challenges are fun and better than "EXPERIMENTAL BATTLEGROUNDS".

I literally steam rolled smaller accounts last season bcos I can ban 5 of your top champions that I never rank up in my deck

To the smaller accounts that was matched against me, it's not my fault, it's Kabam's decision

New valiant players are screwed with this. I am a relatively new valiant player (I'm valiant since october - That means, in october i got 3 R3s, I think I got my first R4 in december), and with lots of units grinding for a good banquet event, and a lot of quests grinding, Right now I am sitting on 20 R4s. They're mainly attackers, since I need them to be able to clear content, so I can't waste resources ranking up defenders. Then my face gets smashed when I fight some mf with a full deck of R4s full of rock solid defenders that I don't have counters for.

BGs is wild man.

I'd definitely consider spending some time ranking up defenders. There's really no content in the game that needs an R4. Might make stuff go a little faster, but otherwise everything is doable with an R3 and boosts whenever you need a little extra push.

There’s a lot of great dual purpose champs out there. Nico, Jean Grey, Serpent all do great things in story and questing content, can be effective BG attackers, and can be brutal BG defenders if your opponent doesn’t have the right counter.

There are plenty of others who fall into that same bracket, so it’s definitely worth looking at your whole roster. My R4 number and time as valiant are almost identical to your own. I don’t have the skill to compete in higher BG ranks, but still make GC regularly and still have a roster that can work through all other content I need it to.

In battlegrounds there are plenty of attacking champs that punch upwards very effectively so you don’t necessarily need these at R4 immediately. An R3 deadpool x-force will take out an R4 yelena just as quickly as its R4 equivalent, with one special 2 and one special 1. Stark Spidey, BPCW and Longshot can also be brutally fast at R3 than pushing them to R4 just isn’t a priority compared to other champs.

I am finding that with the introduction of coliseum that having a wide selection of rank 3s is going to be just as beneficial than just focussing on getting champs to R4.

You seem to forget that whales would have extra 3 insta death defenders, if you don't have a counter (like dark Phoenix or cp Britain). Extra 3 buffs is better imo

You did not. There is an experimental saga defender node in preseason and you need to edit down to 30 when it rolls over from preseason to season.

Well I mispoke. I do have counters for almost all good defenders really. What I don't have is good enough defenders, so if I can't pull the counters for some of their defenders or my counters get banned, I'm fu***d because I don' have defenders, so they're getting 40k+ points for sure against my **** defenders. That's what I really meant.

Mate, I have 22 R4s, 12 of them are defenders/duel threats. You choosing to rank one way champions isn't the fault of the game, it's the fault of you.

At 20 R4s you are almost at the pinnacle of f2p. Your roster is not really a limiting factor. Get good.
