Epoch of Pain: Hero - who are you planning to use?

Working on my plan for next week’s challenge. Main thing I’m still debating is which Skill champ to bring - SSL or Nick.

My plan:
Hulkling, Jessica Jones, Photon : Stellar Star Lord or Nick
Absorbing Man, iDoom, Onslaught, Destroyer, Prowler: Photon
Jabari Panther, Northstar, Aegon, Cassie, Gwenpool, Iron Fist, Toad, Mole Man, Tigra, Ares: Captain Britain
Nebula, Adam Warlock, Viv, Annihilus: Hulkling
Heimdall, Spam, Dani M: SpiderWoman

Debating SSL vs. Nick as it might be nice to have Nick’s 10/20% attack boost. All are R4 except SSL who is R3 and Ascended to level 1. Hulkling, SpiderWoman, and Captain Britain are max sig, Nick and Photon high sig.

Open to any advice or corrections based on holes in my plan folks see.

I’ve currently got a team of 4 that looks like it can already handle everyone.

Quicksilver: Hulkling, Abs Man, IDoom, Jessica, Destroyer, Gwenpool, Heimdall, Prowler, Tigra.

Spider-Woman: Onslaught, Nebula, Photon, Adam, Annihilus, Mole Man, Dani.

Professor X: Cassie, Toad, Spam.

Wong: Jabari, Northstar, Aegon, Iron Fist, Viv.

Jury’s still out on who I’ll take for the fifth. None of my matchups feel sketchy enough that I want to bother teching in a specialist to really lock down one specific fight, and there’s no specific synergy I’m eyeing either. If I can’t come up with anything, I’ll just take r4 ascended Man-Thing as a stat block to throw into the Ares meatgrinder (he’s my literal only r4 Hero).

You sure about those SW fights? Destroyer is gonna be a bit of a pain since it gets Protection and damage reflection based on your Buffs, which SW has a lot of, and Tigra eats a big chunk of your health if SW’s Neutralize Immunity ever triggers.

Destroyer shouldnt be an issue because he'll be absolutely wrecked by the node but tigra i wasnt sure and cant test so I shrugged when placing that one lol

Did they increase the defenders' health and attack? The image on the livestream was too small to see the champion ratings. Also, I'm assuming we can park for the villain's objective? That objective releases the same day as 9.4.

I had a question tho did they say if the lane nodes will be removed? Or will the lane nodes still be there? Because if they are that changes things a bit, I built my team assuming they do get removed.

As for your plan, it's a solid team, I do however highly advice running Nick instead of SF SL as he will be useful for other fights as a second option more than SF SL, and also the attack boost of course.

You definitely should, he also has potential to be one of the best Magik counters so he might become more relevant soon in other game modes. After his buff he hits really hard but he's been slept on mostly because of how bad he was pre buff. The difference post buff however is huge he does 550k RoL HPs in 30-45 secs at r3.

For now tho, he is a really good long form content champ, and his ramp is actually quick unlike someone like Blue Marvel or Sentry which for Epoch is very important. The utility he has also has decent range, some of it is niche but that slow is always valuable.

I've started using him in solo raids too. He's hilariously quick & yes, that slow is extremely helpful. I usually 4 hit combo until right under 2 bars, then 5 piece & sp2. Am I missing something?

Thanks. Yeah, I think I’m probably going to run Nick unless there is some secret/unannounced challenge around SFSL to get him to Ascended 2 if you run him - which I doubt.

I thought they said there weren’t any of the linked nodes? So no Death by Debuffs to bail you out against Destroyer. Unless I’m mistaken anyways, which is possible.

Im actually not sure. I dont think they've officially confirmed if we have the linked nodes or not. I guess im just assuming theyre going to screw with us the worst way possible.

If we dont have dbd then yeah spiderwoman is getting swapped out for sure. Probably for Photon

I'm thinking hulk, hulkling, cyclops, strange, and sf starlord. With max boosts and suicides, I expect starlord to run through fights he has no business doing; hulk as well. I might take my strange to r5 today, and he's broken when max ramped. If I'm able to get to sp3 with cyclops, no champ is surviving that + his synergy with strange is amazing for the both of them. Is there any fight this team can't do?

I go mlm to switch to orange mode instantly and only switch to blue if and when I need slow, you apply more traumas while in orange mode so the longer you stay in that mode the faster you ramp before you throw sp2. Once you get to two bars you fire off sp2 (sp2 applies more traumas and pauses everything so it’s better than just spamming sp1), then spam basics and sp1 for the fury. After that it’s pretty much a rinse and repeat loop, very simple.

I see a lot of people using Nico for Heimdall. They may use the buffed Heimdall and his buffs will be paused with poisons and incinerates. He will gain a permanent indestructible buff at the end.
I'm using the team below. Photon and Jean will carry me through most of the quest.
Might use Karolina for Iron Fist since she only has passives.

He won't be the buffed version. You can check in the regular Epoch quest. It shows it's the legacy champ version in another post.

If the node is there, silk is the best. Her double hit combo and heavy arun means you get the most triggers per combo. Along with the striker. Not to mention she is very safe for the hulkling specials into block parh
