Greetings Summoners!
Week 2 of our new system of Twitch Drops (
which Mike touched on last week) begins tomorrow at 10am PT. While we are generally pleased with how the first week of new drops has gone, we have definitely seen some feedback on ways we can improve.
Chief amongst that feedback was the request to provide greater transparency and clarity on what is contained in each drop. Some of the names for the drops last week created unnecessary confusion due to restrictive character limits, and with many of the drops being progression gated the nuance of properly explaining what was available and to whom was missed. Therefore for week 2 we have reviewed and streamlined the naming convention for our drops. Additionally we want to show you exactly what is available for each progression level to help remove any possible confusion.
How the exclusive Drops work
Before doing that though, another point we've seen raised is a general sense of confusion surrounding the CCP exclusive drops, so I want to take a moment to lay out exactly how this will work. Starting tomorrow, two (2) new Twitch Drop campaigns will begin at 10am PT. The first one, like the current week long campaign that is wrapping up that morning, will be available to anyone that wants to stream MCOC on Twitch. At the same exact time, Friday at 10am PT, a second Drops campaign will begin with rewards that can only be earned by watching specific Content Creator Program channels. These drops intentionally have a longer watch time and can be earned simultaneously with the drops from the first campaign. That way if you watch a member of the CCP for 4 hours over the next week you will earn the first 3 drops from the open campaign and the second 3 drops from the CCP exclusive campaign all from the same stream with nothing else required from you. However, if you want to check out someone who is not yet in the creator program you will still earn those first three drops from watching them, but to earn the exclusive drops you would need to also watch 4 hours of a creator program member's channel.
Essentially get everything in 4 hours from watching a content creator program member, or branch out and watch someone new + a creator program member and get everything in 1.5 + 4 hours.
We have seen the concerns that this creates an unfair playing field for new creators by funneling viewers towards established creators, and we hear you. We absolutely want to support new creators for MCOC and foster a content environment that can support a multitude of creators. To help achieve this goal we now have drops available to everyone, CCP or not, every single week.
However we also want to support our Creator Program members who have consistently put in the time and energy to build the channels that many of us love and follow closely. All of this is a balancing act for sure, but we think that providing them access to some exclusive rewards to give away
every other week while keeping drops open to everyone
every week is a solid compromise.
Another question I have seen folks ask is "who is even in the Content Creator Program" or "who can I watch to earn rewards?" That is an excellent question, and to answer it I'll include a list at the end of this post with every channel that will have the exclusive drops starting from tomorrow.
Skip to Here if Pinwheel is talking too much and you just want to see the rewards and where to get them
Circling back to the beginning of this far too long post, here are the rewards you can expect to find in tomorrow's new set of drops:

And here are the channels of our Content Creators with access to the exclusive drops:
Hopefully this helps provide greater clarity on what to expect from Drops and how to get them, thanks for reading!
