Battlegrounds, the mode that makes everyone unhappy
Mcoc started out as PvE game which is totally great, you were having a great time with the game when you first downloaded and started playing
Story quest etc, you die you revive, eventually you defeat the boss, you are happy, nobody knows how many revives you used, how many times you died, no shame at all
Even AW wasn't that bad, you could find 9 other alliance mates in your battlegroup to blame or 29 other alliance mates in your alliance to blame for a loss, there's always someone to blame other than yourself
The loss also comes every few days, you can stomach a loss every few days and recover
But Battlegrounds is a whole different ballgame
I been analyzing battlegrounds as a mode since it first launched, analyzing why some players hate the mode, analyzing why the mode is RESPONSIBLE for making every player unhappy
1. It's just you, no one else to blame for a loss, sure you start to find something else to blame for a loss, RNG caused you to not get the best counter for a toxic defender but ultimately you can't find a physical person to blame for a loss (human psychology at work)
2. A win or loss comes every 15 mins, unlike AW where you get results every few days, Battlegrounds slaps you in the face with a loss every 15 mins, if you count the loss per fight, it's even more, within 15 mins you lost 2 fights plus a loss result (LLL in your face), you don't have enough time to recover from a loss as you start matchmaking looking for a win
3. Your opponent knows you lost (better mute emotes), you feel shame bcos it's not a secret (human psychology) unlike getting whooped by a story quest boss where nobody knows
4. Battlegrounds became worse with toxic defenders that requires a perfect counter, if RNG doesn't give you one, you are screwed, you lose bcos you are slower than your opponent by a few seconds
5. The gap between accounts have widen significantly, whale spenders have more higher rank champions than you
6. Every season start, GC players are mixed together at Diamond 5, the first few days are chaotic, big accounts are unmotivated to get to GC earlier and overstay in VT and you are matched with them, last season elder accounts are still seen in Vibranium on day 28
7. Kabam forces you to play Battlegrounds by putting certain exclusive rewards in VT rewards
8. GC players are exhausted by the time they finish VT bcos they start at Diamond 5 every season
9. You lose similar amount of points in GC so you end up not gaining any points after playing for 2 hours (Players get 1 win in GC and stop playing and get Gamma tier radiance, least amount of effort for the maximum amount of rewards)
10. You forgot to mute emotes (Kabam doesn't make it mute by default on purpose to sell more emotes), some emotes are toxic
11. Everyone is bound to lose matches in a season and nobody likes losing, most players can't handle losing as well as others, in the end after 28 days season nobody is happy, I haven't seen anyone happy with Battlegrounds recently, even any Celestial 1 winner is unhappy with the stuff radiance can buy in store (Kinda outdated by now and overpriced)
Battlegrounds is the source of unhappiness in Mcoc, you play you are unhappy, you don't play you miss out on exclusive rewards you are unhappy too, nobody is happy
