This season is honestly becoming more frustrating than fun.

Winning even a single fight feels extremely difficult now because the matchmaking is way too hard. Reaching Vibranium 1 itself feels impossible for many average and even skilled players. The Blade piece grind is becoming unrealistic.

On top of that, the scoring system is incredibly frustrating. One small mistake and the entire match is over, while opponents seem impossible to compete against.

Kabam seriously needs to reconsider the difficulty balance and scoring system for Battlegrounds this season. Players invest a lot of time into the game, and progression should feel challenging — not impossible.

At this point, expecting the Blade piece as free compensation doesn’t even sound unreasonable.

Yeah, this is the point: it's not fun. I'm in Vibranium 3 and I'll eventually get to the Gladiator Circuit, but will I enjoy myself on the way there? Not at all. I'll have spent my time struggling against stronger accounts, ensuring that they get their money's worth at my expense, hoping to get enough viable matchups in a row so that I can actually advance.

Along the way, I'll have to contemplate ranking champions that I don't really want to rank to be slightly more competitive, which is not fun. I'll run out of Victory Shields and have to wait until the purchase limit timer resets to buy more, which is not fun. I'll have to mute most of my opponents, because the account that has three more rank 5 7*s and all the paywalled and trophy champs isn't content to simply beat me by running out the timer with their roster's larger huge health pools, they want to spam laugh emotes at me while they do it, which is not fun. I'll have to avoid playing other game modes I enjoy because I need to finish the BG season before it ends so I won't lose the Blade piece, which is not fun. And if I want to vent or sympathize with other beleaguered players, I'll come to the forums and probably get told that, actually, because some other player managed to beat what they consider to be stacked decks, that really my problem is that I need to get better at the game, which is not fun. (Alternately, I might be told that I have hit my ceiling and that I should work on my deck, which presupposes that the players that I'm struggling against somehow won't have even more R5 7*s and all the newest and rarest champs by the time I make those improvements, which again, is not fun.)

I could of course sit out the season and buy the Blade piece with units (if it's offered) and then have to make up the deficit in arena at the expense of my time. Need I say it? Not fun.

And I'm going to be honest. I understand that this game is part of a business, and that Battlegrounds is a key component of the game that Kabam needs to monetize. I get it. I just wish that this didn't have to happen at the expense of fun for so many players.

this was certainly one of my least favourite metas, and I was constantly losing 50% of fights. I then put on max glass canon ( having never used recoils ) and suddenly won over 10 matches in a row. Give it a try, you may hopefully see some improvement in your fight times

They hid the last piece of a champion unlock behind a game mode meta which benefits the fattest accounts, there is no skill to this meta.

Its who has the fattest HP and even with two R5s and 20 R4s, I am routinely encountering 3+ R5s and entire deck of R4s sig 200.

But sure, every CC and forum post complaining about this meta being rigged towards the top 1% of accounts are wrong.

Yeah, I wish. I don't have enough Carbonadium Cores to fully unluck the recoil tree, so I'm running a recoil build at about 50%, which mostly just makes all the other game modes worse. I could buy the cores at 550 units apiece, which sets me up for a unit deficit in the upcoming events that I should be using to improve my roster so that I can actually field viable champs for future metas.

Basically, this season of BattleGrounds has made it so that every time that I turn on the game, I'm being forced into contemplating very unpleasant tradeoffs instead of just playing the game and enjoying myself. Given the sunken cost of time investment to get to Vibranium III, the current most palatable option for me is to let Elder level players knock me around until the stars align and I luck into three favorable matchups in a row, or at least advantageous draws. Alternatively, I could retire from the game entirely, but I really don't want to: I actually had a lot of fun with a lot of the recent content, and I was really looking forward to making Elder and finishing up the more challenging special quests. So it's honestly depressing. I don't know if I can make myself do something like this if the introduction of collectives makes matchups even worse in Battlegrounds next season. That's honestly not meant to be an implicit ultimatum or anything—there's just a point where if you can't win a single hand, you're forced to leave the casino.

2 r5's and 20 r4's is 100% underdeveloped for a competitive game mode.

If you think not doing all the content necessary to have a "developed" roster and then complaining about bg's is gonna get you anywhere you're dead ass wrong.

I barely spend myself and have 3 r5's, and somewhere around 35 r4's. Not sure how the hell you think your 2 and 20 isn't under developed.

They didn't hide anything. Every chase champ had a piece in BGs. There was new end game content before this season started. A lot of people beefed up their rosters. Following that, the collectives rewards gave more champs and enticed ranking up more.

The meta is terrible, the steenghth of decks is coincidental to a new progression level and rewards.

As someone who has a very underdeveloped roster, 1 r5, 8r4 and is currently in diamond 1, my main problem with this season is the scoring system. I have been able to compete so far due to a higher skill level then some of my opponents, but I can't afford recoils, and I js cannot compete punching up with r3s against r5s when the scoring is just time. In the last season, the gap between ftp and whale was much less, as my r2 at the time jack o lantern could one cycle a r4 cap brit jean or onslaught with one sp2, even though it was a complete nuke season, u cld definitely compete with some skill. Next season the gap between me and whales will be even bigger. I have not been playing for long, I started playing a few years ago, but only got upto act 4, and then started again this January, which is why my roster is so small. Due to this my collectives sit around lvl 10-11 for all, and I will not be able to compete next season with collectives in play.

My simple solution to this is js move the blade piece from completing the Victory track to maybe entering Vibranium. This is still for skilled/developed rosters, but forces less of a grind, and is much more comparable to the difficulty level set for other pieces. A new paragon roster can quite easily get 130 bars in solo coliseum, and you are telling me to get the same amount of a character I need to complete the VT in bgs? It makes no sense. 9.4 completion was extremely easy asw, alliance coliseum was easy enough to get the piece if u had time in the 3 days. The AW showcase was by far the hardest out of all of the rest, and it pales in comparison to reaching the GC. The showcase could be quite easily done with either Bastion, or something like Cheeilth or zemo and a few revives. Just move the blade piece from GC to Vibranium V.

In mcoc you are a customer if spend, a good customer if you spend a lot, and an Service/amenity for the spenders to have fun with if you are FTP.

Always been this way. It is a bright spot to beat a larger account.

Kabam should offer more points for smaller account getting a win.

again the issue is most everyone who is average with an average roster has abandoned the mode. I am average with an above average roster. For whatever reason my last two matches before GC were vib 3 folks with decent rosters but a couple less R4’s than me.

Made it to GC, one win and I am at arcane 3 with just over two weeks left. I know it will drop but I have never been arcane in my life. That’s just absurd. I imagine there are some big accounts starting from scratch this season for blade and they will be delayed … but GC is far from teaming with participants despite the blade piece bait.

Nothing can save BGs. People simply don't play it. It's exhausting and time consuming. From my own experience I can confirm BG burnout is real.

I only push 1 day in a week. I ignore it rest of the time.

Addional point: I certainly can't keep up with new kits and interactions. I don't even read kits unless I'm fighting the new champ in war.
