Where are long term paragons usually stuck in story mode?

I was js curious about long term paragons and where they are stuck in story mode for those who got it from ranking 7 stars? I would assume the grandmaster, but in 2026 with r3s, I would think its hardly difficult anymore? Is it that they just can;t be bothered to play story or something?

I just dont do History Progression

And Im only doing Battlegrounds, month quest , sidequests and dimensional arcade.

If you love history progression do that.

I dont care.

Last time I did , was in 2024.

Now, with one R4 and a lot of R3 and same rewards as Valiants, I dont care even more.

Some players just couldn't do 2020 content in 2024 regardless of roster, so there was no shot they'd be good enough now. And when Kabam just gives stuff away, it justifies their comfort in lacking any reasonable ability to actually achieve something in this game.

Normally, it's okay not being able to clear story content, not everyone can do everything in this game. But some of those players justify their lack of skill to take down Act bosses like Grandmaster by saying "I dont care about story progression", rather than admitting their inadequacies or simply keeping their mouth shut. Thats a classic example of "I dont want the grapes. They are sour."

Long term Paragons stuck in story mode are almost always just people who don't care enough, or are not good enough to progress through content. They only play the game to collect characters and participate in events/sales. The reason why "charity" ranks exist is so that these types of players are not left out of major events/sales. This gives them a reason to keep coming back to the game and spending money.

For me it was motivation.

I just couldn't be bothered and sat at 7.1 for long enough to amass almost 600 free paragon crystals.

When I eventually did decide to push on to valiant I found some of act 7 and 8 some really fun content, there's some great cheese paths for completion in both acts and aside from Bahamet taking more revives than he should have while I figured out the mechanics of the fight I used hardly any resources.

Cerastes was a brilliant boss fight, almost one shot him with rank 2 VtD.

Can't be bothered with progression in a game (They play other modes except story quest)
Lazy to play story quest (Including other modes as well, not so active players do exist)
Players who quit the game during their current progression stage)

I ran out of motivation mid pre-nerf act 6 for about a year before eventually deciding to push on. I think it was around the Kingpin boss. I barely played at all let alone story content. Once I got back in it’s been pretty steady sailing since then.

Kabam first created progression when a new champion rarity was created (5* champions), in order to be uncollected, players had to use 5* champions only to complete story quest

This helped to sell 5* champions to existing playerbase

Subsequent progressions also served similar purposes, requiring X number of champions of certain rarity and rank (basically to sell champions and rank up materials to players)

But the value of getting top progression eroded slightly over time as selectors offered no better rewards for top progression (Elders getting Paragon rewards today)

Kabam had over created so many levels of progression that different levels had to be merged when distributing rewards which is fine for lower levels but top progression should not be getting paragon rewards

I would argue that progression serve no purpose today, prestige is a better measure of the player's account overall strength

A new Elder account can have 3x rank 5 7* champions and have 27x rank 3 7* champions and struggle to get into GC within 28 days to get exclusive rewards

An Elder with lower prestige isn't stronger than a Valiant with higher prestige
