M.O.D.O.K.’S Lab Grand Re-Opening!

M.O.D.O.K. is re-opening his Laboratory for Summoners to test the limits of his new device, the Randomizers, once again!

Roll the dice and test yourself against a number of completely random Opponents with their own set of random Buffs! Beware, strategist M.O.D.O.K., satisfied with your previous performance in his Lab, has levelled up the Challenge for you! Remember to use M.O.D.O.K.’s remarkable Randomizer to spin the wheel again if you are not content with your set of Buffs.

If you need a refresher on how M.O.D.O.K.’s Lab Works, take a look at our forum post from the first time they ran, but read on to find out the differences!

The Lab will remain open for experiments between February 28th at 2 PM PST until March 26th at 3 AM PDT.

M.O.D.O.K.’s Lab will feature a few changes in this round:

Duration/Frequency
- 12 hours cycles instead of 8
- 1 entry limit per difficulty (exactly the same as before)

Auto Fight will be turned ON.

1 more General Pool Buff was added on the nodes of Medium Difficulty.

ALL the Champions will be randomized from every Class on every node instead of 1 Class per node.

Final fight in each quest is tuned to be a Boss fight.
- The Final Boss fight in Expert difficulty is a 6-Star Champion.

Were the Random Buffs victim to the twisted mind of MODOK, and adjusted as well?

Not really! A lot of the Buffs are what they were used to be. An exception to this is the new Final Boss Boosts:

Medium Final Boss HP and Attack Boost Pool
- Has Champion Boosts from 25%-50%

Hard Final Boss HP and Attack Boost Pool
- Has Champion Boosts from 75%-100%

Expert Final Boss HP and Attack Boost Pool
- Has Champion Boosts from 150%-200%

General Buff Pool

Consists of most Buffs available in the game, with some exceptions such as:

- Buffs that only work on one specific Character and Class specific Buffs (such as War Machine’s “Second Line” Buff or “Mystic Wrath”)
- Incredibly high HP or Attack Buffs (nothing above 200%)
- Degeneration (3.3% per second and 1.67% per second)

Buffs on a per-difficulty basis, on each fight:

Easy
- 1 General Pool Buff

Medium
- 1 Medium HP/Attack Pool Buff
- 2 General Pool Buffs

Hard
- 1 Hard HP/Attack Pool Buff
- 3 General Pool Buffs

Expert
- 1 Special 3 Activated (Permanent)
- 1 Expert HP/Attack Pool Buff
- 4 General Pool Buffs

Here’s where you can get more of M.O.D.O.K.’s precious Randomizers:

- 8x in a welcome message on February 28th, when M.O.D.O.K.’s Lab goes live.
- 8x per day in the Game Store for 2500 Gold each.
- 1x in each Final Boss fight of each difficulty of M.O.D.O.K.'s Lab (8x per 24 hours, maximum)

No energy cost but LIMITED ENTRY!

It still costs 0 energy per step to play M.O.D.O.K.’s Lab, however, you will only be able to enter each difficulty once every 12 hours.

IF YOU ENTER A QUEST AND QUIT OUT, YOU WILL LOSE ALL WITHHELD ITEMS AND YOUR ENTRY WILL NOT BE REFUNDED. This means if you enter, decide you want to play something else, and quit, you’ll have to wait until your entries reset (every 12 hours) to enter again.

REWARDS - M.O.D.O.K’s GENEROSITY

Below is a list of what you can expect as a rewards for each completion of M.O.D.O.K.’s Lab. Keep in mind that since this is 1 path, completion will also equal exploration. Also keep in mind this is per instance, meaning the below rewards can be earned a maximum of 2 times a day for the duration of the event.

Summoners must update to the latest version of the game to be able to partake in MODOK's Lab.

A lot of us can go for 200 shards. Much better than collecting 4* shards like back in the day. I guess we should be thankful too.

Please make the total of all T2 Alphas collected form at least one whole T2 Alpha. Right now it's only 360*2*30 = 21,600 shards. Can you make it so that we can get a whole T2 Alpha if we do MODOK Expert 100% for 30 days?

As far as I remember, the bosses in MODOK labs were easier than the fights in the middle, but back then I think the class of the boss was fixed (cosmic). Perhaps cosmic champs were easier back then. Since they are also randomizing the class, it could get a bit more difficult.

Since the classes are random i may give it a try but i know yondu.modok.LOL ultron.GG to me are the most annoying champs lol

Exactly! Anyone remember BEFORE master Event Quest difficulty was added? We have almsot no 4* shards and basically no 5* shards. Then Masters comes along and gives us a decent amount a month and then UNCOLLECTED EQ difficulty comes and is all:
Heroic+Master+Uncollected= 3 4* a month and a 5* a month! Plus 6* shards

Yeah UC is a bit hard at times but the shards are up there.

And this randomized lab thing is a remix but no one complained when Dimensional Rifts were remixed and that costed actual energy! This is 0-Energy and at least through Heroic is easy without any insane PI mostly down to enemy champions and buffs. Masters is probably gonna be a bit sketchy but again 0-Energy cost. Even IF you wanna blame bad RNG for giving you the worst enemies to fight it shouldn’t be too different to getting 5* Spider Gwen from a featured 5* crystal just luck of the draw.

People are literally complaining about essentially free 4* shards. And decent-ish odds at free 5* shards. Add that missing 1 cycle is only 1/48 if the total event and having a few bad matchups isn’t losing out on a large chunk of a crystal

Thanks for this I really like the additional way to get 5* shards..

Not so Happy:
Increase of last boss difficulty... if you have a quest with really [removed by moderator] up debuffs this can be very very hard..
But lets wait and see.

This shouldve been a great possibilty to give us atleast some T1A shards the community is begging for it for ages now!

Hol' up. Were we supposed to always get 5 star shards from doing heroic last time??? Because I never got any 5 star shards from heroic the last time Modok's lab was here, and I don't see a percentage next to the amount of 5 star shards (indicating that the drop rate is under 100%).

Are we going to get those 50 5 star shards each time we enter heroic this time?

I got them every time I completed heroic (completed, not entered) last time.

I checked back in my line chats, because I had a feeling something was up (I remember getting 50 shards for heroic). Back then we voted on possibly doing less war to focus on MODOK’s lab and we’re all talking about 50 5* shards from heroic. However I do not have any visual proof we actually got that.

200 5* Shards, every 12 hours. That's 100 more than the last Event, per day, with 0 Energy cost. You were expecting a 5* per run?
