The percentage of getting a featured champ are just too low and there is a lot of undesirable champs in the 15k featured. I personally can't justify the extra 5k in shards. Now if you are a whale who has everyone they want from the basic and you really want a new champ....I guess in that scenario the extra 5k is justified.
