In AW, why do non regen champs regen on nodes that have 100% or more regeneration?

With the exception of willpower, why do I see champs that don't have the power to regen, I see them regenning (I'm excluding willpower) in AW?

Most likely because you’re fighting a masochism or buffet node that’s heals them if you place a debuff on them or gain a buff on yourself respectively.

what’s the best champ to fight those ?

Depends on the node massochism aa. Buffet void.

These are not the best for every version of the nodes. Depends on if it’s in story or war and if it is war depends on who the champ on the node is

I'm thinking tile 31. How do you think a medusa, hyperion, iceman would do against this node?

For masochism, use heroes that don't trigger debuffs. Use intercept instead of parry in attacking to avoid triggering masochism. For buffet, use heroes that don't trigger buffs. Use parry then attack. Evading triggers limber which triggers buffet.

As far as defenders or champs to use for attacking ? I wouldn’t necessarily suggest any of them as attackers for 31.

is that triggering buffs against the opponent or yourself? Which champs are good for buffet then?

Buffs on yourself. Use heal block champs like Void or use hard hitting champs to offset regen.

Kabam's description really sucks... so if I place a bleed on the opponent on the buffet node, it doesn't count..only on yourself. You think gwenpool would be good or medusa?

Think about it like this. Off the top of my head, the only node that helps the attacker is life steal. For any other node, assume that the node 100% is in the favour of the defender.

should I take dexterity off while playing on the buffet node?
  • New_Noob168New_Noob168 Member Posts: 1,585 ★★★★
and also, is it buffs you place on yourself or your opponent or both? So gwen will always bleed the opponent, so every 7 seconds, he will heal 5%, but I guess the bleeds may offset

No. You just need to get used to fighting on buffet node. Don't evade to prevent activation of limber. Just parry or intercept. Or better yet just use champs that inflict heal block or reverse heal.

Masochism: cancels debuffs you place on them and triggers heal. But it only does this once every seven seconds, so AA for example can stack up debuffs quickly enough to overpower it and once you get a few neurotoxin loaded up.... done.

Buffet: cancels buffs you get and triggers heal. This would make the mentioned champs among the worst possible options. Iceman's ice armor will trigger it. Medusa's furies will trigger it. Hyperion's power gains will trigger it. Better options are blade, magik (limbo is passive), vision, etc.

    ps- node 31 is buffet

Buffet I’ve done t successful with 4/55 Hawkeye several times. Just don’t evade. Try to give room for heavy punches in a way that’s not an Evade and just tank the rest of the hits u don’t party. Spam SP1 and bleed to death. It’s basically rethinking how u play.

I do a similar tactic on Masochism: get an SP1 ready with HE and then parry. It triggers the heal but there’s a 7 sec cool down. Parry again and fire SP1 during the cool down FTW.

you mean evading triggers dexterity. limber is reduced stun duration and has nothing to do with evading (except with mesmerise nodes)

I think before you can truly understand how to beat these nodes you need to understand the basics, such as what is a debuff and what is a buff.
