Thats just not true everything in the game has value and is not only determined by kabam it is also determined by the amount of time/money/units people are willing to spend to get them.
The idea that kabam loses nothing from giving away free items is a flawed one, yes it costs them no money to do so but if you are given somehting for free you're less likely to spend on similar things in the future.
It wouldnt cost Marvel anything to put all of there films available to download for free but it would lead to less dvd sales and streaming platforms or sky/cable tv networks would no longer pay much for the rights for the films if they are avilable for free.

I think that’s pretty clear. Just because Kabam says x is worth y, so pay us y, does not mean that it has any actual value.

If people are willing to pay y then yes y is the value.
I'm not willing to spend £200k on a brand new ferrari (even if i had the money). That does not mean that is not its value
