If they were going to delete the thread it would have happened by now. They’re letting the tantrum run its course here.
As the title of the thread is "Summoner Appreciation Week Discussion" I find your complaint to contain an unnecessarily excessive amount of irony.
Then there are the players at all levels that weren’t impacted by the overheating issues at all because they were on Android phones (although some Android users were impacted) so to them it is free stuff. So they are probably satisfied too.
If that is the case, then it would seem like this compensation is geared more toward newer players and maybe some low to mid mid-level players. The people who haven’t been playing this game as long and would be more than satisfied with this and therefore they will keep spending.
Which means the rest of us are probably a minority in all this. So I have no real hope in anything changing with this.
I’m not asking for the world. What I want for compensation probably wouldn’t make everyone happy. But I’d like to at least get 2 of the gift packages.
These issues aren’t fixed and are still ongoing. My phone still overheats enough that I can’t grind the arena. I’m still having my commands not register properly so I’m constantly getting creamed in AW and AQ. So honestly getting all gift bundles would be closer to what many of us lost out on and are still losing out on. It wouldn’t even have to be 1 lump sum. It could be spread out and given once a week.
The presumption was that no compensation would be discussed until Kabam felt the issue was resolved. Their statements about a part of Summoner Appreciation Week being compensation implies that they believe the issue to be resolved. However, I honestly haven't seen the overheat issues eliminated on my phone. The fix reduced them, but haven't substantively eliminated them. I'm not sure if that's because the level of heating I'm experiencing is considered within the range of normal, or because the level of heating I'm experiencing is considered an edge case among all players.
I'm still surprised a bit by the fact that Kabam hasn't really very specifically articulated what the compensation is for, except in generalities. They promoted the idea that compensation should be specific to the problem, but haven't actually spelled out what, specifically, they feel are the problems that their compensation "gift" is intended to address. That significantly undermines their prior statements about how targeted and specific compensation is supposed to be.
*Appreciation : the recognition and enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or something.
*Compensation : the action of awarding someone something, typically money, as a recompense for loss, injury, or suffering.
*Gift : A thing given willingly to someone without payment, a present.
In Kabams official announcement for the Summoner Appreciation Week it specifically states that the "choose your package" is part of the Appreciation, a Gift. Without stating otherwise and completely out of left field it's told to us by a Mod that the Gift is now Considered, by Kabam, as Compensation. This in itself is a contradiction of the Official Statement.
Imho, we were all lied to and or tricked, however you choose to look at it. We are being treated as if we do not understand the simple definition of words. And while many players within the community have suffered loss of property and also potential in game rewards, Kabam has decided to take a stance and claim no fault. All while twisting words and attempting to confuse the player base into believing they are being properly "Appreciated" "Compensated" and receiving a "Gift" all at the same time with one simple fix. When in reality nothing is fixed, at all.
By being vague it leaves a window of opportunity for them to attempt to make restitution if they see in the data playing significantly slowed down and spending decreased. Then they can say later oh wait.. that was for the game outage here is a set of items from when there was some IOS issues
As of today we’ve had another big youtuber step out of his alliance and then mention the reasons.
Another 2 have slowed down/have started other projects.
Kabam has little left as the few people who would have defended them have stepped down.
Though there are posts that aren’t constructive posts at times, those that are constructive are taken away down and deleted.
Kabam has dug itself an awfully big hole this time and a large portion of players are quitting after this season due to the constant outages, issues and lack of value in the game.
Since Kabam have given up as a company and really don’t care anymore (don’t know if they ever did) then I’m considering those jumping ship and trying to find another game that isn’t run by Kabam or Netmarble.
They will not respond as you cannot defend the indefensible
There is no way they can put a positive spin on this - the community is outraged and they don't care
They hope it will go away - well it will along with a large portion of the playing community....
This is a step down
what this guy said ... last year was so much better ... another slap in the face
Several things that mystify me (somewhat):
(1) The doublespeak involved in the...uh, gift/compensation/appreciation. A gift really isn’t compensation/restitution—by definition, it’s given freely and without obligation. Appreciation isn’t compensation or restitution; it’s something independent, given freely much like a gift. But the gift is referred to as the compensation. So is the package (let’s just call it a “thing”) intended as an apology or compensation for something? Or is it an appreciation “thing”? A gift “thing”? What exactly is it? Why the circuitous references?
(2) The fact that the “thing” appears to be incongruent to the harm done. Being unable to play the game doesn’t harm a single area; it harms the ability to engage in all areas of the the game. After 6 weeks of conversations, to come up with something that barely purports to match the harm done in one area feels 100% disconnected.
(3) The fact that players are forced to select which “thing” they want. Does it imply that I am satisfied by the “thing” if I actively choose it? Why does the appreciation/compensation “thing” require me to do anything at all? Can’t I just be appreciated without having to opt into something?
(4) The fact that the reference to the “thing” mentions it is for “the issues in 19.0 previously discussed in the forums.” Which issues? All of the issues? You mean the “phone overheating” issue that dominated these forums for weeks, or something else? Why not mention directly the overheating issue that crippled the game for players? Why talk around it all?
(5) The fact that Appreciation is reduced in time for all players and in value for the advanced player. Why one week versus what has usually been a month long event in the past? Why an emphasis on XP boosts and Act 4? What’s the rationale for a shorter, weaker appreciation? Have we been naughty this year?
I don’t have answers to these questions. I would have hoped by now someone in a official capacity would have stepped forward to explain the thought process for the “thing.” I haven’t seen that yet.

.....huh?
Also, please note that even the most loyal of your fanbase, the content creators, are starting to bail out due to problems. Some not sure if they want to make MCOC videos anymore and some that have quit their alliance due to the crazy amount of issues. They make money by doing these videos and they are still getting fed up.
Or as I'll now officially call it C R A P
