Is there anything that helps reduce lag? Serious question

I am asking an honest question. I don't even know what to do anymore. The game...it just doesn't make sense how the lag issue just comes and goes in fights. The transition between screens in the Crystals section is awful enough, but it's just infuriating in fights.

Is there anything people have done with their devices that helps? Uninstalling any programs? Notifications turned off?

Is there anything, any workaround, anybody has figured out to help mitigate this awful problem?

    @ESF there were some suggestions on a reddit post a while back about turning of location services and Siri and also making sure that apps aren’t updating in the background.

    Is nonsense.

    I have a Brand new iPad that still has lag. It’s much better than my older devices but game lag is still persistent.

    I’ve had some luck with pausing for 10 seconds at the beginning of fights

    It's been happening to several I've talked to across multiple devices types... Oddly enough not at all on the super cheap Android phone I use as a backup for my alt

    Clearing all background apps has helped tremendously for me
