Corvus Glaive compared to Crossbones

From my understanding, the community has indicated that Corvus Glaive is an elite champion because of his damage output in the first 20 hits. However, Crossbones can stack furies and (at least from my experience) can place similar damage on opponents with ability accuracy reduction.

Is Corvus really that good or is he just a fashionable champion of the month?

Experienced Corvus players, please explain, I’ll likely have the dilemma of ranking up a Corvus or a Hyperion here soon. Any advice is appreciated.

Corvus 100% I’ve had crossbones but Corvus damage is just so amazing

Corvus is basically bleed immune, so you can run full suicides with him along with Willpower and take essentially no damage, along with a massive attack boost. His missions allow him to counter many of the newer champs and once duped, is basically immortal.

Crossbones doesn’t hit nearly as hard as Corvus.

In my experience, Corvus is really not good until you get a couple persistent charges. After that, he becomes a monster.

Xbones damage is nowhere close to corvus even if you hit the rng jackpot for fury. Also xbones can't do anything against any armored champs while corvus ignores armor all together

Running suicides and willpower rectifies this. He still outdamages pretty much all my other champs

Corvus is good because of specific mastery and boost combinations that allows him to do unreal damage in a very short amount of time.

This is similar to a min/maxing type of strategy you often see in RPGs. There are many champs in the game, under normal circumstances, that can out-damage corvus. Corvus just had a unique potential that most champs don't have.

I have Crossbones at 4/55, he’s one of my favorite champions. Corvus is much better, both with and without his true strike synergy.

Why are you asking about crossbones if your dilemma is between Corvus and Hype? Corvus over Bones, Hype over Corvus.

Hype over corvus? Lol. Not saying hype isn't one of the best champs, but I've had hype R4 for a while now and immediately took corvus r5 when I could. If you're willing to boost and change masteries for war it's not even close between the two

Sure it is. My hype is r5 and is much better for longer fights, can deal insane amounts of damage with enough furies and I never have to worry that his 30 hits are almost up. But to each their own.

Willpower regen is something not many know about .

Champs that you can 100% count on a regen proc if charges are active.

Cold snap(iceman)
Bleed(morning star)
Shock(wasp)

Then there is bleed nodes caltrops and biohazard. All regen for my man.

That and his true strike synergy with proxima is the best for AW right now

Yeah if you're ranking for long fights sure. I ranked for war. I rarely even get to fire a sp2 let alone multiples in war. I'm not worried about long fights obviously
