New forums, new Character Wishlist thread

Just as a reminder, our rules:

Character requests are still a very frequent topic of conversation within our community, and with good reason - there are a ton of amazing Marvel characters in their universe.

The old Character wish list thread was ballooning a bit, and several characters requested in that thread have since been added to The Contest. We're starting up a new thread to house these discussions so that they can continue, but in a more up to date manner.

A few FAQ's:

1) Why haven't you added (X character) yet?!

A: there are so many characters we want to add, but simply haven't gotten to yet. A character's lack of presence in the Contest currently does not necessarily mean that we've overlooked them or that we don't already have them on our radar. Our teams have a finite amount of time in order to produce content, and we'd love to bang characters out quicker - but still need to maintain realistic developer cadences.

2) We need more female characters and more diversity.

A: Our own team is quite diverse itself, and we agree that representation is an important concern!

3) Why do you bother adding (X re-skinned character) when you've not even had a chance to add (x character not in The Contest)?

A: While some people are not a fan of character re-skins, MANY of our players are. The Marvel universe is one with a lengthy lore, and almost every beloved character has gone through some sort of costume change or shift at some point in their super-powered careers. These differences offer a good opportunity to re-introduce players to content they may not have managed to obtain the first time around, and allowing new players to pick up a certain champion while still keeping things a bit fresh. Our goal is to have a healthy balance between release types.

4) Can you confirm if a requested character is going to be released?

A: The short answer is no. We have specific timelines regarding when we can announce content, and that means that we can't pop in to say 'hey, that person is coming!'. For those wanting to keep on top of our latest announcements or teases, following our Twitter and Facebook accounts are your best shot. We also have an Instagram account that you should follow. So go forth, and suggest! We're not going to individually reply to the comments and suggestions that we see, but we are reading everything.

This should go without saying, but please discuss the characters you'd like to see without insulting each other or trying to discredit someone's opinion. Friendly debate is welcome, but the emphasis here is 'friendly' ; )

We already have howard the duck as a fun character, let´s get spiderpig as well!
He would be awesome!

Also I feel We are way too short in regards of poison champs.Right now basically all We have is Abomination who is a full on poison champion.
Off the top of my head I would love to see someone like - poison ivy,viper,swamp thing maybe even jormungand.
There is a lot of poisonous champs to choose from in the marvel universe main thing it would be someone good who can sit in an AW poison node.

we need quicksilver, preferably CW quicksilver (although its a couple years late), he would be like spiderman OG but on steroids. 30% to evade, max awakened ability makes it 50%. hits have a 5% chance to inflict weakness, special2 will have an increased chance to crit and an 80% chance to stun for 5 seconds ,special 1 is always unblockable, triggers 10 second fury and 10 second precision. his dash backs are like night crawler's. also as a minor quirk projectiles will always hit him

Stan lee: Cosmic, mystic or skill class (or the one that had an advantage over all of them like the October symbioid)
Bio: The creator of the Avengers, the X-men, Spider-Man, and so many more. The Collector warped time and space to bring this legend to the contest. Nuff said!
Abilities:
Persistent charge: at the beginning of a fight Stan gains 3 charges. At the beginning of a fight Stan converts 1 charge to an unstoppable buff lasting 2 seconds for every other charge available.
Health Ret-con: When Stan’s health reaches under 20% he gains a regeneration buff for 5 seconds healing 2% health every second.
Stan-sense: At the start of the fight, and every 5 seconds, Stan gains 3 Stan-sense charges. If one hit will deal more than 10% at once he has a 50:50 chance to auto-block or evade.
Writers block: If Stan parrys an attack (without using Stan-sense) the opponent is stunned for 2 seconds and their block proficiency is decreased by 10%.
Signature ability: Amazing Fantasy
Every 20 hits in a combo Stan writes himself a buff from this pool:
Regeneration for 5 seconds, healing 10% health
Armour up for 5 seconds increasing armour rating by 325
Fury for 5 seconds by 50
Special attacks
1: Stan smash
Stan gives a smack with his notepad and a headbutt of creativity!
Guaranteed to stun opponent for 2 seconds
2: Pencil power
Pelts the opponent with all of his best pencils. Now what to write with..?
70% chance to inflict bleed on opponent for 3 seconds dealing 250 damage.
3: Excelsior!
Stan calls in his illustrators and together bring out a whole bunch of ideas. Stan gives the thwip hand, with no effect... Not intimidating? How do you feel about the real Spider-Man’s feet in your face? And a Mjölnir in the stomach? And Cap’s shield in the face? Every one of Stan’s creations appear to help their creator.
60% chance to stun for 3 seconds
10% chance to inflict armour break for 5 seconds decreasing armour by 800

The collector (re-skin).

This is the collector after being defeated in 5.2. He keeps the same special attack animations but loses almost everything in his game text.

As a replacement he now has Persistent Charges. Whenever the Collector defeats a unique champion of the same star rating or higher by using his special 3, he gains a persistent charge.

He gains abilities based on the number of persistent charges he has much like Aegon with combo count.
10 charges: +10 crit rating per charge
25 charges: +5 block proficiency per charge
50 charges: +5 Attack per charge
75 charges: +10 health per charge
100 charges: +10 crit damage per charge

Signature Ability: Persistent Charges can now be gained by defeating champions one star rating lower. At 20% health the collector has an 1-5% chance to go unstoppable when being attacked.

Flavor:
It will be tough to keep track of which champions you have used to power up your persistent charges, this harkens back to the apparent insanity of the collector when you first interact with him. The sig ability should only rarely trigger unstoppable. This is intentionally a nod to the 5.2 fight which is a turning point for lots of players.

When you get this guy he should make you want to take him into a bunch of different quests and cause you to search out different champions to "collect" them. He doesn't need to have any amazing utility. He's the collector, he collects things. He gets stronger when you collect a bunch of different things.

I thought about having the persistent charges be based on your actual champion roster but then he would suck as your first 4* or 5* and take a long time to be good, whereas with the special finish requirement he encourages you to play differently and even approach quests differently. Getting him early in your career might encourage you to dip your toe in tougher content since you might be able to get a few persistent charges before getting slaughtered.

We should Earn Extra Shards for receiving 0 hits in all challenges. Especially Player vs. Player. Please consider as most of us including myself who receives 0 hits often

Jessica Jones - I love the creativity you guys add to quirky or off-beat characters (Modok/Quake). It would be a creative challenge I would love to see you guys tackle with J.J. - Maybe she has abilities favorable w/Liquid Courage Mastery? (Similar to the way Omega Red works w/Double Edge + LC). Visually: SP1 smashes a bottle over opponent’s head. SP2 takes a swig from glass bottle, spits it onto opponent’s face, then clocks them in face with a punch as they fly across screen. SP3 (A) wide shot of her taking out her Camera and abruptly snapping a shot of opponenet that blinds them; (B) Over-the-shoulder Or POV shot from Opponent’s view where he/she is receiving the photo just taken. The photo takes up 80% of the screen, revealing a stupid/silly face they made in the photobomb. Their hand holding photo comes down, THEN Jessica’s boot to the face comes crashing towards the screen! (C) Cuts back to wide shot of the opponent flying across the screen from Jessica kicking them so hard in the face. *Also synergies w/Defenders pls* tks!
