AW Matchmaking screwed us?

We are 17.5 million, Tier 4 alliance, fighting for platinum 3 rewards. Kabam matched us against a 21.5 million, tier 3 alliance, also holding a platinum 3 spot.

Tier 4 ranking, Tier 4 rewards, tier 4 points.....but we are working on a tier 3 map with tougher nodes. Currently losing, and will likely finish that way. Most have used a bunch of items (health and boosts) to try to push thru.

This is absolutely nonsense we are literally getting hurt here. This could affect finishing the maps and get less points for what it’s worth.

Kabam, you really need to work on matchmaking. This is broken and completely unfair.
We, the tier 4 ally on a tier 3 map are struggling, while they, the tier 3 ally on a tier 3 map are coasting thru.

This is why the war rating system is so flawed. Kabam don't seem to think there is a problem. We are a 6.5m rated alliance and keep getting matched with alliances around 8m.

During the off-season we had 6 or 7 wins in a row which artificially increased our war rating and we have been paying for it all this season.

Personally they need to get rid of war rating and make it so you are only matched with alliances in your tier. Have it a promotion/relegation style.

The difference:

We are currently in tier 4 of AW; they are currently tier 3. We are stuck fighting much tougher tier 3 nodes, only getting the points and rewards for tier 4.

2 options: we should be fighting a tier 4 map, for tier 4 points and rewards. Or, we should be fighting tier 3 map, for tier 3 points and rewards.

There is absolutely a difference.

Biohazard and explosive personality aren’t much “harder”. If you guys are tier 4 then most of your players should be use to those buffs from regular game play. Scouting your paths works just fine.
Don’t blame kabam for your losses because your players couldn’t take the time to be prepared for the buffs.

We are fighting a tier 3 map, and fighting for tier 4 points and tier 4 rewards.....

Win or lose, you fight on a tier 3 map, tier 3 points and tier 3 rewards should be at stake.

Those 2 nodes were only used as examples to prove it’s a tier 3 map. Those may be easy, but other nodes aren’t. Again, it’s about the points, the rewards, and what the outcome can lead to when we are getting screwed because we should be getting more points for the tougher map.

@milomike you guys aren’t far off on war rating. There is two options available in that matchmaking. 1) match as close to war rating as possible or 2) not get a match.

You’d be more pissed off if you didn’t get a match at all. And matchmaking doesn’t care what tier you’re fighting for or in. It only cares to match war rating as close as possible.

Your alliance is obviously right on the cusp of plat 3. So everything looks fair imho.

Edit: After looking up your alliance you guys are in plat 3. Everything is fair. If you don’t want to fight plat 3+ alliances for your plat rewards then drop down to gold 1.

match-up dynamics do NOT care about your tier,rewards,alliance size,maps bla bla

its based on war ratings! and the difference is only +45

we are currently facing an alliance whose size is 240% bigger than ours,but same war rating

Again, everyone seems to be missing the point. There’s no complaint on the increased difficulty of the nodes, there’s no complaint on the rank of the alliance we’re facing.

We are fighting on a TIER 3 map. We are only receiving TIER 4 POINTS AND REWARDS. What part of that is so difficult to grasp? We should be fighting for the points and rewards based on the map we’re fighting.

If you were receiving AQ map 5 rewards for playing AQ map 6, you’d say something, right? There’s no difference. Tougher map in AW means we should get the rewards and points for the tougher map. Plain and simple.

This isn’t about fighting other platinum alliances. It’s about lost or gained points that can affect the outcome of the entire season.

The opposing alliance is tier 3, fighting a tier 3 map, earning tier 3 rewards and tier 3 points. We are tier 4, fighting tier 3 map, but only earning tier 4 rewards and points.

agreed. if you are playing on a harder map you should be getting the rewards for that map. I'm in favor of the matchmaking system in moving you up a tier etc, but they definitely need to award you those points for completing the war that you participated in an equal playing field regardless of whether or not you earned your way to that tier.

While I agree you should still get those rewards. The argument is pointless because you are tier 4 and if you win will receive the rewards you should get.

Although, I have seen alliances fighting above their tier previously get the tier above rewards. So maybe this was a recent change in the system by kabam. Or the system deemed your alliance close enough in war rating (-43) to not increase your rewards by a tier.

You’re Gold 1 opinion likely hasn’t experienced the difference in nodes anyway, so it (your opinion) is irrelevant at this point

Now you’re being abusive. Again point is not missed. If you can’t handle the answers then give up. Gold 1, plat 1, masters...it does not matter where I’ve been or where I am now. The point is the system gave you tier 3 alliance with tier 4 rewards because you are tier 4. Deal with it and stop complaining. You aren’t out matched by the alliance.

Exactly what I’m saying! But according to some, that’s just self entitlement.

Seems like a clear flaw in the matchmaking system. An issue that needs addressing.

If it’s ok to match a tier 3 with a tier 4, both teams need to be awarded the same points for the map. Either make it a tier 3 map with tier 3 points for BOTH teams, or make it a tier 4 make with tier 4 points for BOTH teams. There’s no self entitlement by asking for something that SHOULD be a level playing field. There’s nothing level about this situation. At all....

We all use the same revives, potions, boosts to fight the same nodes. Why punish someone with lesser points? It’s flawed.

Maybe so, but you said there is "no reason" for them to get tier 3 rewards. Regardless of OP's good or bad qualities it doesn't make sense for alliances to get different rewards fighting each other on the same map.

You haven’t agreed.... You’ve insisted that I get tier 4 rewards for competing on a tier 3 map and that matchmaking is just fine and doesn’t need a few tweaks and changes to correct this issue. You stated your opinion, but that’s all it is. Doesn’t mean you’re correct, doesn’t mean nothing needs change.

Regardless, the post is for Kabam, not you. It’s a bug/issue, I posted for a resolution, not a snide comment of “you’re tier 4, you get tier 4....” There’s nothing constructive there.

Guess I didn’t read it because it was just repetitive. The first handful of comments weren’t agreeing with anything. The point was definitely being missed.

If anyone fights on a teir 3 map, everyone should get then tier 3 points. The multiplier is exactly the huge difference here. A loss with a clear in tier 3 is about the same as a win with clear in tier 4. We lost that war, but we lost and got tier 4 multiplier, also lost nearly 100 positions in platinum 3 because of it.

I’d expect the the same if the roles were reversed and we were tier 3 fighting on a tier 4 map, get the tier 4 points due to fighting a lesser complicated map. We all just want it to be awarded fairly and based what’s actually happening in game.
