If this was a reinstall on device they had already been using for that original account, then they can just go to in-game settings (upper left) and do LOGOUT. That then defaults to using the default/…1 -

You can do color in your ALLIANCE NAME, scanning thru Alliance Leaderboards you’ll occasionally see some in color. But for individual player name, you’re probably correct. Same with Ally TAG I think.…1 -
