I get the impression that the Tower rewards aren't very good; at level 85, I got a Rank 1-2 gem, but getting there required at least sixteen Rank 3 champions. So, to eventually get a Rank 3-4 gem, I’d need sixteen Rank 5 or 6 champions—meaning the rewards will never really be useful to me.
