Should community vote champs be Offense or Defense oriented?

To my recollection we’ve had 2 community vote champions.. (not sure if CGR was one or not) Hercules and Guillotine. Hercules is a offensive oriented champion based on his additional damage and being able to pause his immortality while stringing defender. His big was WIDELY ACCEPTED by the community. Guillotine is a defensive oriented champ based on her Pain Link debuff. Her buff is WIDELY UNDERWHELMING to the community. If we vote on a champ, it’s because we want to PLAY WITH THEM not put them on defense… How do you feel?

More than being offensive and defensive, I think it's safe to say that Herc was a success and Guilly was not, and that's one of the key differences.
