The adaptive difficulty remains, but they've made it 30% easier than last month, which is quite a bit. It's not as much of a slog as last month, that I can tell you. What exactly is your complaint about the current format?
I have played this game for more than 10 years now, and I've played it for fun, to take my mind off things, and to enjoy the experience with my fellow alliance members. I got stuck on act 6 years ago, and have absolutely no interest in getting back into it. Why? Because it became a chore. Impossible to finish without watching videos and reading walkthroughs and trying to beat it again and again and again, always failing.
And the last couple of years kabam have ranked me up, first to throne breaker, then to paragon. I haven't REACHED these levels, I've been placed there. And now, all new content for me is at paragon level. Which I'm not playing at, cause I don't have the time, energy or interest in learning how to. Because i play games for fun. Not to break records or become the greatest player the world has ever seen. I play to take my mind off things, to enjoy myself and relax.
But Kabam have now decided they don't want casual players anymore.
So I guess it's time for me to leave the game? Not spending a penny more, that's for sure. And I have spent PLENTY.
I absolutely hate the new changes.
Agreed. I'm being punished for having good champs. Sorry for upgrading and spending money, I guess. They don't give a **** though. After 10 years, I'm done too.
I get where you’re coming from @Flodekommode, but I think some of your frustration is a bit misplaced. I’ve been playing almost eight years now, and I’d also call myself a casual player. I’m not grinding twelve hours a day or chasing Bastion titles. I just log in when I can and enjoy the game for what it is.
When Adaptive Difficulty first came out last month, I wasn’t impressed either. It was way overtuned and honestly not much fun. I didn't play it at all. But Kabam has clearly listened to the feedback and fixed a lot of what was wrong. The new version is MUCH easier, and not the grind it was before. It’s also nowhere near top-end content. If you’ve got a half-decent roster and some basic game sense, you can get through it without too much trouble.
And there are still plenty of easier content options if you just want to play without pressure. Arenas, Incursions, even old content like Back Issues (if you haven't explored it yet) if you just want to play to "take your mind off things."
Act 6 is also getting a nerf soon (or already has), which will make it way more accessible than it used to be. That’s something people have wanted for a long time, and it’s finally happening. Honestly, if you think about it, you should be glad Kabam bumped you up to Thronebreaker and Paragon without you needing to go through the tough grind the rest of us did. A lot of us had to earn those ranks the hard way.
The current format isn’t perfect, but it’s definitely improved. It’s not some elite-only setup. You can still play casually, still enjoy the game, and now the EQ feels far more balanced than it did when it launched in September.
come on bro … at this point you are asking kabam to put 1 star defenders in eq…
In my opinion the EQ mode is good now … classic difficulty requirement is the only downside for me now.
Honestly rdonohue833, it’s a bit ironic to say you’re being punished for having good champs and then not want to tackle content they were made to handle. You’re not being punished for upgrading or spending. Having a strong roster just means you have the tools to handle content that’s designed for it.
I’m exactly the same. Casual player for ten years. Happy to mostly auto-play and play some of the harder stuff - but the new EQ is too difficult for me, even now that it’s been toned down.
I didn't say anything about 1 star champs, where did you get that from? Simple question was asked. "Are we stuck the current format". You guys went off on some other ****.
There's nothing ironic about upgrading champs kabam has given me and being moved in rank because of it. Wtf are you talking about?
Difficulty wise, the current Elder mode is fine. The attack and HP values are in a nice Goldilocks zone; not too high, not too low. Nodes are in a manageable spot as well so no complaints about the overall difficulty.
Personally, my main complaint is simply that there are too many fights per quest (16 fights per quest to be exact). Each quest takes on average 30-40 minutes to complete and that's with health and attack boosts enabled so that's anywhere from 3 to 4 hours to fully complete. While I wouldn't say it's "difficult", it is quite the laborious slog to get through and if it weren't for the YouTube videos I have playing in the background, I'd probably go a bit nutty. If they removed literally 1 fight from each lane (i.e. 13 fights total per quest), I'd have no complaints.
Just some contextual information: I've completed up to Elder 2.1 so far and am in the 12/19 reward bracket (or around 30K prestige).
You’ve literally been handed the tools to clear this content and you’re whining because it’s “too hard.” That’s the irony.
I mostly agree. 16 fights per quest is definitely a grind if you try to do it all in one go. The silver lining is that we have the whole month to complete the EQ, so there’s no need to sit down and power through all of it at once.
People need to stop whining and adapt to the new way. Playing low level EQ is not going to help you get better at the game. They already nerf it and it's not that hard.
yeah I think we are stuck on the current format… but they will be removing the classic difficulty requirement to enter elder … that’s the only hassle in EQ now
my thoughts exactly… it takes me a day to complete one quest in elder difficulty… some reasons being that it’s long and by the time I have done three fights my device is overheating and I have to let it cool off .. and AI is still garbage , very stingy with special attacks 😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭
What's your prestige and reward bracket that it takes A DAY to complete one quest?! 😲
They already tuned it up awhile ago. Baron Zemo EQ, if I remember correctly. Another small jump would have been fine, or if they did this while leaving other options. You call it whining, but I call it making changes a lot of us didn't want, and forcing us into them. They even know they screwed up because they've had to tune it down twice, and are now talking about adding a lower difficulty(difficulties?) back in. Not all of us play like you apparently do, but clearly there were enough of us giving negative feedback for them to do that.
This is a game. It's supposed to be fun. I probably could do it now, I made it through the 1st path last month, but it was such a slog I didn't want to continue and now have 0 interest in what used to be my favorite part of the game. This is constructive criticism, whereas posts like yours just make people want to give up and quit.
They literally just nerfed act 6 into the ground as of yesterday. Again. For the 4th time. If you can't beat it yet even with 7*, its a skill issue.
They have said that they will add the lower difficulties back, they just already have a few months built out and they have to change things. So, it will come back just not this month. Maybe not next month either…. but eventually.
