He's got a terrible reputation; quite fairly because loads of other mystics do what he does, much better. However, the reality is that actually he is useable; and in the event he's your first or only mystic 5* or 6* champion, you certainly can make use of him.
He's got more or less the same mechanism for switching between potions that Ronin has for switching stances. But on Ronin, it's cool. On Diablo, the same thing just feels clunky.
He's got some significant questing limitations due to only starting the quest with 4 of each potion. On three other hand, that should see him through at least three or four fights; and he's nothing if not versatile.
So if you've pulled him as a 6*, or if you've pulled him as a 5* and have no better mystics, then get to know him.
If you've pulled him at 4* or below, he's probably not worth the effort.
