First 5* hero

Is better to spend the 5 star fragments for my first 5* hero for normal way (10k units) or use it for featured hero (12,5k)?
I'm trying to find out for powerful hero as possible.

First off, the featured is 15k and at this point, you need a 5 star champ to rank up further and go through content for you, no matter what champ it is, so go for basic. My first 5 star was mordo, but he took me a long way in terms of act 4, and now I have 13 5 stars and am uncollected. Also, 5 star basic have some great champs that featured doesn't such as aegon, omega red, ghost, thing, domino, hyperion, medusa, void....I could go on and on...so go for basic, cos you never know what featured could land you, and you would feel quite disappointed if you didn't get a featured champ out of the featured 5 star crystal. If you go fro basic, this way, you would have extra 5k shards to spend and get your 2nd 5 star faster!

Perfect. It make a sense. Thanks you very much. I just want to be sure that the featured has no 100% change of the powerful hero.

I just landed a 5* Minister Sinister from basic, and I don't think I would go for featured since the risk isn't worth it. I did featured 5* featured 2x, and one was Iron Patriot and the other Civil Warrior. I say pull the basic, and you are 5k shards away from another basic.

Basic easily. No guarantee you're going to land on someone good for an extra 5K shards. And you'll be halfway towards getting your second 5 Star. 2 half decent 5 Stars are still better than just 1 5 Star.

I opened one featured 5* and got Sabretooth. Completed my Void-KM-ST trinity.
That was my first ever featured 5*.

    You got lucky.

OP go for the basics. When you have a good roster from basics eg 40-60 5* you can start trying for featured. I got my best champs (Corvus, Fury, Blade, Stark, CMM, Quake, Aegon etc) from basics. The only really good 5* champs I've gotten from featured have been Cull (back thenhe was ok lol), Warlock & Doom.

I have over 30 5* and have never bought it due to the high chance of a dud

I've got 39 5* and have never once gone for the featured at 15k shards. Just go basic.

Go with basic or else the featured cyclops will get you.

My last 2 featureds were Falcon and Drax. You can get that kind of stuff without paying the premium for featureds. The only champ in there that makes it worth it for me is Doom, so normally I'd skip it myself, but I really want Doom.

Simple solution: count the chances of obtaining a champ you would use and don'rt forget to relate it to the amount if shards spent.

    Here's a how to:
    1) Count the amount of champs you want from basic pool and divide it by the amount of champions in basic pool. If you multiply this number by 100, you get how probable it is to pull your desired champion. Example: you want 25 champs outta 160 in basic pool. The math is (25/160)*100=15,625% chance of obtaining what you want.

    2) do the same with featured crystal. Don't forget it costs more, so you have to calculate it accordingly. Example: you want 8 champions from featured pool, that contains 24 champions. That is (8/24)*100=33,3% probability of obtaining what you want, BUT featured crystals are more expensive, so you have to take the 33,3%, divide it by 15 (because featured costs 15k shards) and then multiply by 10 (because basic crystal costs 10k shards.

So in the cases I listed:
Basic: 15,6% chance of getting what you want
Featured: 22,2% chance of getting what you want, relative to difference in costs of the two crystals
