Do crystals in your inventory update?

I finished act 6 and got the 6* nexus crystal. Will it only ever contain champs from the current basic pool? Or, if I wait for more champs to be added to the pool, will it be updated to contain those champs as well? Has this question been addressed by Kabam, or does anyone know for sure?
