Weekly mission isn't going to give 2x the rewards as we expected

I just checked the rewards for epic difficulty for the 2-weeks-mission (I have picked the shards for good reasons) and we're only getting 6k 5* shards for the whole 2 weeks.
This means, unless it's a mistake, that If I stick with my choice, I'll only earn about 11k 5* shards from epic, instead of the 22k 5* shards that we were made believe in the post with the rewards.

What happened?

    I am really confused how this whole thing still works. The timer reset on the mission shows 13 days so how is this the reward for every week?
