Shell Alliances in War?

Is something going to be done about shell alliances in war? This season we are struggling to keep in plat 3 due to shell alliances we are facing. This is the fourth one this season all plat 1-2 worthy alliances that have jumped to lower rating alliances post season to jump ahead of the curve. We even have communication from some of these groups that this is what they are doing. It’s not a fair playing field if people are cheating like this, shouldn’t there be some form of lockout or war rating adjustment penalty for any mass group of people jumping to a shell alliance post season to cheat the system?

    I hate war, hate it so much that I don't play it. But I see nothing wrong with what some alliances are doing. It's the system Kabam has and I have no issue with people working the system.

    You can't stop folks from leaving alliances. Shells suck and it's borderline cheating, but with the current system, there's nothing that can be done, and kabam has basically said the same.

    cheating implies breaking of rules or gaining an advantage that's unavailable to others. there's literally nothing stopping you or anyone from doing the exact same thing, nor anything stopping me from running 3 of my accounts in AW to single- handedly clear lanes, mini- bosses and the boss every time out. if you want to suggest players be locked into alliances for the duration of wars, you better hope you have 30 guys willing to put up with that nonsense or you'll start seeing some just not even try and Hey You Can't Kick Them!

    My 4th account is a high-level lurker, btw, so that's some fun too.

    Come on, it's cheating. They can't hang in their own division so they jump down and get it easy until they reach the big boys again. This season has been way worse than any other season and we have lost each of those wars to shell alliances. You can't tell me Kabam can't tell if an alliance hasn't participated in the previous season or been active, it's the same alliances jumping between the same places. If someone isn't active in any other sport they get demoted, so if an alliance isn't active for the previous war season they should get a demotion in war rating that is considerable. Come on @Kabam Miike you can't tell me this is within the intentions of the game and having a level playing field and there is nothing you guys can do.

    Well... counting cards is available to anyone who walks up to a black jack table and I think that’s considered cheating.

    The result of shell alliances is matching up two alliances with similar skill, but one has a big defensive roster advantage. Thus, generally speaking of course, the shell alliance gains AW win rewards at an unfairly higher rate. There’s no way that’s the way AW is intended to be played. And I don’t think there’s any question those alliances do it on purpose, season in, season out.

    I think it’s a great idea to penalize war ratings for a group that is all or almost completely new. Start them like they’re a “new” alliance. Rock bottom. Just make a cutoff and enforce it. They wouldn’t go all the way back to stone and bronze to get those juicy rewards.

    The AQ treasury thing is a step in the right direction. Just figure out something fair for war, too.
