Power gain buffs gone? Replaced with energize?

I was playing doom with surfer, and a weird little magenta buff appeared. It was an energize buff. I checked and they renamed the power gain buff "energize". Is this just a rebranding of sorts? Is there any difference?

The energize effect only increases power gain from hits taken and hits landed, it does not effect passive power gain like Hyperion or mordo’s so they actually made it easier

They changed the wording so it was more clear that only poweer by getting hit or hitting someone would have increased power gain. Good change, imo. They should clear up the other stuff

They changed the node entirely. Champs who gained passive power like Havok, Symbiote Supreme, Hyperion, and OG Vision just got nerfed.

Champs who gain passive power were never effected by a power gain node. Only by an improved power gain node. Havok, OG vision and hyperion are different because they gain passive power and power from Being hit.

Please stop yelling nerf before understanding the way champs works. Smfh

Doesn’t energize increase offensive power rate? When you were referring to Doom’s synergy with silver Surfer one of the buffs that activates was called power gain but it wasn’t that.

Sorry I misspoke; I was referring to the node in Alliance War that used to be Power Gain but then turned into an Energize node thus “nerfing” defenders who rely on passive power gain. Honestly I don’t get why they felt the need to change it. It’s tier 10. At a certain point they might as well remove all node buffs because the challenge is basically nonexistent.

It hasn’t changed though, literally all that changed is the wording name and icon

@Lvernon15 sorry I edited my post before seeing yours... I distinctly remember node 53 in Alliance War would also apply to passive power gain specifically Hyperion.

Was I mistaken this entire time and he never had a bonus to his passive power gain?

He only ever got it on hits, passive and buff form power gain (hype ds sym etc) have a desperate node to boost their passive/buff power gain
