June event review

Warning: this is going to be a fairly long post, summary will be at the end

So it’s time to analyse the event again, going to start off with the worst this time

Side event:
Overall this event wasn’t great due to a few underlying issues, perhaps the most significant being difficulty and rewards scaling. In order to get rewards that we’re going to make a significant different for your account you’d have to really struggle to clear the modok labs, for example a new uncollected player won’t get much value from master labs, but would struggle in the epic ones where the rewards that benefit them are. Also the small rewards buff early on was limited only to a small portion of the players, and while this was a welcome change it didn’t do enough to let the event make a major difference on those accounts. The other issue was the daily events, compared to other labs the fact you didn’t have to do them daily was great, but having a daily refresh solo event made this somewhat redundant as players going for the full coins would have to do things daily anyway. The duels system was solid, no issues with that. Overall this event gets a 3/10

Event quest:
Again pretty standard, nothing too special, tigra could cause some problems with her crazy reach but other bosses were super basic tbh, again, pretty standard, not going to rate since the variation between event quests is minimal

Now onto the champions,
Tigra:
She’s a very tough character to judge, she seems to have an extremely high skill cap that nobody has really mastered, and a very unique playstyle, and so far it is tough to tell if she’s an amazing champ nobody has really figured out yet, or just an over complicated niche champ who’s just slightly above average. I’m going to withhold extreme ratings in her since I’m not sure yet, will go for 7/10, she’s unique and fun

Hit monkey:
Love him, amazing character. Great damage output, very little rng which I really like in a character, and solid utility, his only drawback is a lack of sustainability but with the act 6 attack reduction this weakness won’t be as severe soon, he’s got great potential as a champion, super fun, also doesn’t need his sig but gains benefit which is perfect, going to give this guy a 10/10

So, to summarise, June has had a very weak event overall, but has had solid champions, it’s been a very quiet month content wise and is basically there to tie us over to the more interesting things coming in July and August

Thanks for reading, share your thoughts, agree or disagree

I really liked the side event, they seemed to solve the problem I had in the past by allowing you to do it whenever you wanted/could. Hated past events where every single day you had to grind or miss out on rewards. Kept the game fresh for me.

Hit monkey doesn’t need to take block damage. Otherwise I totally agree with you. Event was probably closer to a 4 or 5 out of 10 though seeing as UC players could get a 5* AG alongside some good catalysts

The only part of the post I disagree with is the scoring, i think 2 separate scores are needed here. Personally I would give this side event a 8/10 as I have the roster to choose a path and clear the content with relative ease. I was initially frustrated due to the small variety of nodes the boss could have, but soon got used to it. The 'store' in my opinion is the way forward for this game and should be rolled out for all content (including AW). Prof Hoff consistently states that the lack of 'choice' is the underlying issue with this game and the stores go such a long way to help players progress in a chosen direction rather than a forced one.

I think for the growing player with a limited roster, the difficulty of this content would probably warrant a 3/10 as it proves difficult to complete. For the long time player with champions to pick (blade trinity melts the mystic path every time), it's a solid 8.

0 energy and no RNG rewards I prefer this kind of setting

This is such a nice quality of life feature i completely forgot about! Great point.

Agree.. No doubt this is one of the best event.. I hate rng.. You get as per your potential or if you can spend..

Epic seems difficult but the others were relatively easy to grind.. Just a matter of one good champ.. And 5* awakening gem + lot of rewards you buy as per your need .

I found most of what you said to be true however there are certain parts I do disagree with, while the even wasn't great it had its merits(ie. zero energy, time, not rng based, and path convenient). While I also agree with the EQ paragraph and partially the champion paragraph I believe that the ratings on the side EQ have been too low. While the difficulty and rewards in contrast were bad they weren't horrible enough to warrant a 3/10 rating. Considering this you must also look at mid tier players and the benefit they get. I believe that is one of the things you over looked. Also regarding the overall month and champs as a whole I would say the QOL changes such as zero energy and timing helped the everyday player and even the whales. The store additionally proved to be very useful as well to mid and low tier players providing much needed resources and shards needed. So in my opinion the month as a whole would get a solid average rating of at least 8/10 with the side EQ getting a better overall rating. I believe your views are from the upper echelon of the mcoc community and therefore you didn't account for the good the event did for many. For instance as a cav player with a smaller roster of 5* I need both the rank up materials and the gem that they provided for very little effort. I know for a fact several people are like this too. So anyways decent review but the side Eq and store were quite disregarded from your view as a long time huge account lol.
