AW Defense - Tier 2 Lionheart + Suicides = Broken

Place a defender with suicide masteries, like Thing, on lane 1 node 40.
Buffet 15%, and then there's this new version of Lionheart that reads "Whenever the defenders healing abilities would be REDUCED or reversed by a Debuff, they aren't reversed, gain 300% potency, and the Defender deals 200% of their attack as Direct Damage to the Attacker for 5 seconds."
So you start the match. Fight loads in and you immediately start taking degen damage. How? The defender is taking poison damage and has Willpower active. Poison reduces the healing of Willpower by 30%.
Since the poison from suicides is indefinite, Lionheart remains active the entire fight. You can do nothing about the degen. Buffet now heals for 60% health. When Thing reaches 15 rock stacks, his specials are unblockable so you are forced to take the special or risk healing him for 60% health via Dexterity.
See the problem?
Is this interaction intended?

Is there anybody around that could look at this? It's a very poor design allowing the defending alliance to self-inflict and take advantage of the node's very powerful heal increase and degen damage.
