Was in platinum long time ago. Went to relaxed alliance and slowly were platinum 4. But what the hell happened in aw or to aw.

The last 5 or 6 wars were in the people were fighting don’t clear the middle. We even lost on war and cleared the map and they didn’t. We’re winning most but why are people not clearing map? And how are they platinum alliances if they don’t clear map?

Wasn’t war fixed?

Could it be that they couldn't get past Mixmaster? Lol.

SpideyFunko here, reporting live from Spicyslicer’s latest thread. It appears he’s complaining that people aren’t clearing the map and are in platinum... we'll bring you more details as the story develops

More details have emerged... it appears he is confused as to why people do not clear the middle. Possible theories include the fact they’re running out of time and need to kill boss, or they can’t do mix master.

A lot of it comes down to item use, as has been mentioned here. Some matchups can be a real pain in the ass, so if an alliance isn't overly concerned with their overall placement within their Platinum bracket, they can decide to skip a section or two and head right for the bosses, as the boss kills tend to be more important than the 7 or so champions left alive on the map.

A group fighting to get into Plat 2 will need to score more points and an alliance in Plat 2 confident that their rank is high enough that a loss won't drop them down into Plat 3.

We’re a gold 1 alliance and we employ this tactic from time to time when we’re matched against an alliance with a much higher rating than ourselves.

Priority then is to ensure we achieve the maximum BG takedown points in all 3 BG’s to maximise points scored, rather than throw resources into a futile matchup.

At the end of the season the rankings are based on total points scored across the season, and I think to stay in gold 1 you only need a 30% win ratio (could be wrong there) which is easily achievable.

Long story short, the strategy is all about maximising points scored per war.

Back to you at the scene @SpideyFunko
