How can I move up the Season Reward Ladder?

Some people love Alliance War and some people hate it. Me? Oh I love it! But I have been stuck in Silver 2 and Silver 1 for two seasons and I really want a boost in rewards. I want to be in the higher end of Gold, you know?
I want to be getting a full 5-Star and those 1000k - 2500k 6-Star Shards this coming season.
Someone tell me what I have to do!

    There is no secret magic sauce here.

    With the AW change from 2 seasons ago, gold and higher is more cutthroat. Big accounts with people willing to use items is the way into gold and beyond. If you're good, active and willing to use items, you'll be able to find an ally in a better standing.

    In my experience, a lot of people want better rewards, but aren't willing to make the sacrifices to actually get them. Honestly, the season payout isn't really worth it if you have to dump all your glory or units into wars to consistently keep winning. I'd rather sit in silver and get some bland rewards, but be able to drop every ounce of my AQ glory into T2A and C5B to get more 5* R5 and 6* R2 with less constant stress in AW.
