Archangel heavy is bugged

For two consecutive wars, against left side minis in AW , I had the following happen, first against NF last war and now againt KM this war:
- after successfully landing a Parry and Stunning the defender I hit a heavy
- half way through the heavy the defender comes out of stun and counters me with a special
I’ve been using AA for years and I’ve never had opponents interrupt his heavy with a special counter.
And ofc being war, I died both times.
This isn’t happening in EQ fights or AW path fights.
So why is it happening against mini bosses?!?
