Soul boosts worth keeping?

Just wondering if anything has been said about soul boosts and whether there is any incentive to not burn them. Will they expire and disappear or is there some kind of trade in planned?

    They count towards item use of you need extra points

    I had 70 built up and it took 15 minutes to spend them one by one. But i got 7000 points for item usage. so that was awesome.
