He is great but not best. Insane damage totally independant on buffs (that's rare w mystics). He has no immunities and against incinerate immune he is a toddler. But otherwise he has insane burst damage. Also his playstyle involves a lot of heavies (and parries) so bear that in mind.
As said above, I dont have him as 4 star or 5 star. So I know nothing about him. But yeah I did a duel with 6star archangel and did a sp2. He goes down so easily I didn't even know what happened. He was at about 30% health as I wanted to lower his health as much as I can to apply sp2. I mean. Incineration happened and I don't even know how much damage it did.
People say he loses damage against incinerate immunes and I strongly think it's wrong. His SP1, when pure of heart is active, can make 7 instant bleeds, which while are not as strong as the incinerates from the SP2, they're quite strong enough to call it decent DOT. With Mojo, he inflicts degen instead. Starts the fight with 300% ability accuracy, almost impossible to be reduced to 0%. Great buff control champion, long stun on SP3. Stack the bad karma's on the opponent, and you can gain a lot of power, aiding you to fire Specials quickly.
He's a great champion, @LordPSN . Unfortunately, the endgame content is not the place where he could shine. He still would be promising for you in incursions, AW (AQ maybe) and a few more places I don't remember now/don't know.
Longshot has a fair bit of utility to be honest, he's no utility machine- but he's got more going on for him than people realise
Awakened ability- Chance to auto nullify buffs and replace with bad karma A lot of people dunk on his sig, because it takes away from his damage. But I love it, Longshot already has tons of damage, it adds a layer of utility he didn't have before and makes him a more balanced champion. Oh no, you have to use two more heavy attacks to finish a fight because he nullified a tricky power gain buff that could have killed you! In my opinion it more than makes up for fights being the tiniest bit longer. Unduped, Longshots nullify comes all from his Sp2, but what if you can't get to SP2, or what if they shrug it off? Or what if you want to use SP1 for the bleed damage? That's where his sig nullify comes in, it's a layer of buff control above just his SP2 and really balances his damage and utility.
Base AAR of 300% This is so useful against Domino's, Assassin mastery, any nodes that give you a chance to proc something. Using him on incursions with the old incinerate and shock hacks was crazy, a full 5 combo gave you 2 incinerates and 3 shocks every time.
Increased power gain For each bad karma on the opponent Longshot gains 12% of the power they gain, so at 5 bad karma that's 60%. And that's not just from hitting them, if they have passive power over time you will gain that too. It makes refreshing the SP2 incinerate for buff control very easy.
His playstyle/huge heavy reach Because of the way you play Longshot, it means the opponent doesn't gain very much power compared to you. You can get to an sp2 way before your opponent gets their sp2. It takes him 10 hits, or 5 heavies. This isn't as obvious utility as the rest but it means any situation where you want more power, or an sp2 fast, it's very easy to get there with longshot. Also, his heavy reach is so long, it makes heavy countering and heavy chaining in the corner very easy.
Lastly, buff control Longshot's SP2 applies a 12 second incinerate which fateseals all buffs. Against any non incinerate immmune champion he will stop them getting buffs without a drop of sweat. Add in the sig and buff reliant champs are absolutely neutered. It's very easy to get more than 50% uptime on it, especially with mystic dispersion. But when that incinerate isn't on the opponent, the sig is very useful to stop buffs that could hurt you in the meantime

I thought that he still takes crit failure from domino since some of his abilities rnt a 100% chance even with the 300% aa
His only non 100% ability is 51% chance to gain good karma when attacked- you're not gonna want to do that in a fight - that changes to a 102% chance if you dodge the attack. And a 75% chance to lose good karma when suffering from a non damaging debuff, or when attacked when stunned. Again, not gonna want to do that. I guess if domino has a node that makes her get buffs, and LS is awakened he could get crit failure from failing to nullify a buff, but for your average domino encounter that's not gonna happen.
Since he's immune to passive AAR, it also means domino's unlucky doesn't affect him (though it still causes dex to fail, so don't try and evade her sp1).
Wow! @BitterSteel . Thanks for that detailed information. I would try him again.
You're welcome! He's a really fun champion. He's pretty easy to play as well, just parry, hold heavy till the last second, then let go to hit opponent when stun is ending. Wait until you have 5 bad karma on the opponent (red passive debuff), and try and get 5 good karma (gold passive buff) on you, then throw SP2 for big damage.

I have him 6* r2 and like him (r3 candidate)
