What does “well-timed block” and “dash back” mean to GM?

Is a parry not a well-timed block?

I’m encountering repeated challenge failures where “Parry” registers multiple times during the “Perform a Well-Times Block” challenge in Phase 3.

Is this intended? It’s been a while since my last GM fight, but this seems like things are not working correctly.

On a side note, neither is dash back. Multiple attempts required before the game registers.

Fine to make fights tough, but not fine to make them tough and buggy.

Edit: Add “Strike My Block” to the list. When GM has his purple prism block up and the player hits that purple prism, is that “striking the block”?

Jep, they mean parry. Until now (3/6) almost everything was fine - most fails on my side  and dash back is simply swiping several times back .. purple prism? Hmm it must be that shield icon for that challenge

One thing I have noticed in my 2 runs today, right after his sp1, nothing seems to count. Its almost like you need to wait a sec after before he will register the prompt actions again. So like if it is gain a buff and you have the dex buff, punishing his sp1 will not trigger it. but if you wait and intercept then it will.

I suppose my issue is how many times it takes to register. It’s like a **** shoot. Pound the block, dash back like mad, parry 3-4X. What’s the requirement? Doesn’t seem like there’s any consistency.

I just fought the grandmaster a few months ago, and this one is a total different animal, I’m always a 1/4 second behind.
As far as the challenges I notice you must do it several times just too be sure it registers.

Honestly, it’s disappointing more than anything else. This is a pretty fun fight when it’s working and you figure out the rhythm, but this version feels very buggy. I’m sure there are folks who have done it with no issues, but I’m not one of them.

Does this occur in phase 3? I believe there is an icon next to the challenge dictating the number of times said challenge needs to be done. Dash back 4-5 time, 3 parries, hit into block 3-4 times, etc. if I remember correctly. It may be registering parry, but because it requires multiple successful attempts the challenge remains.

That’s correct. I don’t recall it taking more than a few times each in Act 6. I’d have to record (and I’m not able to right now), but the number of times is regularly more than that.

At this point it’s just anecdotal, although I have an ally mate who had similar experiences today. Who knows? Maybe I’m just getting some super special pRNG.

Wasn't that long ago I fought the GM in act 6 so it's relatively fresh in my mind. I feel like well-timed blocks was more than 3, either way there should be a counter visible below the GMs healthbar on each prompt

Right. Problem is having to complete challenge (a) a relatively high number of times and (b) things not registering.
