Battlegrounds matchmaking is broken

Not sure if this has been discussed but here we go. Idk how or why this is an issue but there’s no way thrownbreaker players should be repeatedly matched against paragon players. Plain and simply my r2/r3 champions cannot complete with multiple r4s. Especially when time is a key factor in the scores. My r2/r3 attackers take longer to chip at the BOOSTED r4 health pool. Of course the other way it’s so much easier for my opponents r4 to demolish my r2 defenses. Kabam really needs to address this because it will sure cause the game mode to fail for so many because I know I’m not alone.

For starters this has been discussed a lot and as someone who has a Paragon and Throne Breaker account I can tell you match making isn’t fair ever. My little account matches with people higher than my big account and my big account matches with people who are just whales. Basically feels like you are on the low end of the match unless you pay to play.

Unfortunately there's really no way to avoid this unless they just made separate divisions of BGs based on progression level and nerfed rewards for the lower divisions. When everybody is competing for the same rewards you can't just give smaller accounts an advantage by not making them face the best players. Let's say they did match up smaller accounts against each other until you make it to Gladiator Circuit. Then you would have to face those big accounts and you'd just be fodder, having even less chance of winning than you do now.

It sucks but that's just the nature of the mode right now.

If you’re losing a lot then it means that you still have a lot to explore to improve the size and depth of your roster. Roster acquisition and rank up decisions is one of the main caveat of this game. It’s what makes it fun. If you’re not cutting it, then hold it where you currently are while improving your roster in other parts of the game (Story Mode, Side Quests, High Tier Alliance War, etc). You can’t be entitled for the same reward to those who are doing the grind.

And that is why this game is called Marvel Contest of Champions and not Marvel Battlegrounds. Explore other stuff first while practicing your BG game.

It’s a competition and ranking up champions is a part of the game. If you can’t beat those that are higher than you then stay at where you are right now in the rankings.

The rewards for Paragon and Thronebreaker are the same. Everyone is competing for the same rewards so there is no issue of roster strength. If you want Thronebreakers versus Thronebreakers only then rewards should be nerfed for you, guys or there should be a limit where you can rank.

Unfortunately everyone isn't competing for same reward. This is probably the biggest misconception which is used as number 1 point against bad matchmaking in bg posts.

Cavalier, uncollected thronebreaker, paragon all have their bg stores different. Distinction has already made between them there. Prices for Thronebreakers are lower than that of cav and uc, some progression levels has even some items locked. Paragon has lowest cost as it should be.

What is not fair is that a thronebreaker player matching with huge paragon player on bg. They aren't competing for same rewards. The thronebreaker is competing with the paragon for rewards that has increased cost than that of paragon.

If every progression levels store and cost of items in it was same then you could have argued everyone is competing for same rewards and then there would have been no bad matchmaking

That's exactly how it works. We're just 3 weeks in so more people have placed out of the VT so there are less options for low accounts there.

Everyone is competing for the same rewards.

Unless I’m mistaken - The solo and ally rewards are the same, you get the same points for winning a fight and if you finish top 500 I.e a 6* gem?

Second, you don’t need to spend your tokens now. Could save the for when you progress your account if want to get more value - but they are still the same!

    Wrong.

The differences in the stores does not mean the rewards are different. Each win and loss gains or loses one step regardless of your title. Every time you reach a new tier, everyone gains the same amount of tokens and marks, regardless of title. That is all that matters. A Cav beating beating three Cavs to move to a new tier rewards the same as a Paragon beating three other Paragons to move up to that same tier.

If Kabam want's to start everyone at 0 like they did for the first two seasons then the best thing they can do it give a higher win reward for higher titles, basically like AW. All losses are still only 1 step down but if you beat a Paragon you move up 4 steps, TB 3 steps, Cav 2 steps and 1 step for anyone below that. This would get Paragons out of the low levels of the VT and eliminate any reason to manipulate the matchmaking.
