MODOK bugged or not?

When battling MODOK i know in order to disable his force field you do it via heavy attack but some reason when using other then skill class his force field is never disabled via heavy attack only when I strike which triggers auto block.

In his description it doesn't state that only skill champion can disable force field via heavy. Yet skill champions are the only class who is able to disable via heavy. I recall each time I fought him I was able to disable via heavy his force field no matter the class so correct if I am wrong here.

No, it absolutely does not require a skill chamo. Any parry / heavy attack play style champ will mince him - colossus is a good example. However, you have to get the heavy in completely while the parry stun is still active.

Additional masteries help with parry to ensure you have the most amount of time possible (some heavies are long and can be stopped midway if the stun runs out first).

You basically should always have the max mastery points in Stupefy - this helps with the fight style that makes taking down modok and similar fights where parry/heavy is the best answer (usually - depends on other node combinations or certain champ abilities - for instance of stunn or debuff immune, you're gonna have to have another option like quake or someone else that can work around it).

Pacify can help reduce the chance of the auto lock or any type of defensive ability. Personally, with better masteries unlocked, I rarely use it now, but it's pretty solid to out a point or 2 in it if you've not unlocked and upgraded the more expensive masteries yet.

So specifically the force field is only disabled if he is hit while not stunned-so a lot of champs with single-hit heavies will only hit during the parry stun and not remove the force field (but it can also be removed if you get lucky with Ability Accuracy and auto-block just fails to trigger). Another alternative is true strike/accuracy or undermine, which bypass autoblock completely.

    Is MODOK giving you problems?

I've never really read his abilities but he's pretty easy to beat now.

Just use any champ that bypasses auto block.

Over the years i developed a reflex to always parry at the start of all fights but stun reflection node has kept me from doing that haha.

Isn't giving me a problem it's just i always remembered when using any class i would remove the field by heavy bc it's sorta the safest way when fighting against him

Not sure where you’re getting the heavy attack idea from. It’s only removed when he autoblocks once.

Read the bottom line of your picture:
Force Field is removed when he is struck.

If you land a Heavy Attacks then you 'strike' the opponent, unless they activate Stand your ground. So in that sense, Heavy attacks do indeed remove the Force Field; as long as he's not stunned.
