Galan’s damage in Act 7 + Thronebreaker EQ

Anyone else find Galn’s damage is bad at this level? Way too long a build-up and they don’t even die from the burst.

In BG I know he wrecks but seems average everywhere else damage-wise.

Mine is rank 3, don’t run suicides and do only MLM combo.

It’s about design intent, he’s not meant to be overly useful in act 7 content. He has a very quick ramp for 200k health pools, and can stretch a little more. but get much higher than a max harvest and it’s gonna start to feel really slow.

I’d recommend other champs, and keeping him in Bg decks and war teams

Yeah pretty much, it’s just a shame that they’ve released a champ who’s only meant for BG/short fights

Yes. That's why I haven't r4d him. Ironically he's too slow for me.

When I got him, I saw all the videos hyping him up and I even considered R4ing him before my Apocalypse…. the amount of regret I would have had.

He's still very worth the rankup, but that Apoc should go first

Yeah turning down Big Daddy Apoc like that would be a travesty.

Same. I was actually debating between CGR and Galan for r4 and awakening. I still need a 2nd cosmic r4 and still haven't bumped Galan up (or awakened him).

He's horrible in story content. Takes forever. He's amazing in war and BGs, which are the two relevant game modes currently. No design flaws at all.

I disagree, there are champs made for longer fights (aegon, quicksilver, Shuri etc) and ones made for shorter ones (Galan, Viv, shocker) . Some work for both like Kate and Zemo, but not every champ needs to work for every length of fight.

Hmm not sure maybe because my galan is rank 5 max sig but I ran through act 7 100 percent it and 8.1 and 8.2 100 percent both using galan as my main fighter too.

Just did a random fight in 8.2.1 against a venompool.
Galan did not benefit at all from the nodes and still took down 560k HP in about 2 mins. He’s no race car but he definitely ain’t slow.

I completely disagree with him being too slow on story content. Ive seen this a few times and If you’re building to one big burst and hoping to kill in act 7 then using him wrong. Galan is a beast in story content. He’s a cosmic immune to nullify, fateseal, and most forms of power control. He deals large bursts of damage, but you can detonate them as many times as you like. There’s no benefit to saving it till you get max stacks.

For longer fights I don’t bother with MLM, i do full combos. Build up to a Sp2 activate harvest mode and immediately throw the sp2 for the 9 incinerates and the burst damage. Then build up to Sp1 and enter harvest mode to consume your resistance buffs. Then repeat this cycle till they die. Alternating special attacks let you take advantage of his criminally underrated incinerate damage, while also ensuring you always converting the resistance buffs into burst damage.

He may not be a nuke like CGR but he definitely isn’t slow if you play him correctly.

Appreciate the insight, I’ll try this rotation with full combos
